Note: this is a very early, unbalanced & meant for causal/non-serious play.
So creating a rough version of a self healing bonus action that's 5x a Day for healing using Lvl+Con bonus = heal, with 1d4 recharge per long restas the main feature of the race i'm making .
The part i'm getting stuck on is relating to my options as I said in title. Namely every 3 levels i'm giving the player an option of either:
Adding another another stack of lvl+con bonus for healing(I.E. level 4 who has a +5 in Con would be able to go 4+5 x 2=18) OR
Adding 2 charges & go up to the next multiple of 2 sided die so they can heal more(iE. Level 4 would be able to heal 7 times a day and and roll a 1d6 or 2d3s per Long Rest) .
But I can't seem to get it to work where each option will override the base action for the racial trait and adjust it to fit the new level's changes. I know I'm probably doing it wrong but want to know what exactly I'm doing wrong.

I think you can half of what you want by adding “at higher levels” or whatever that’s called for races.
I think you can do half of what you want with “options.”
I don’t know of a way to do both.
