I'm using a house rule in a new campaign where Dex is used for all to hit values and Str for all damage values on weapons. Representing this in the character sheet requires manual input but I'd rather do it by making custom common magical items as a stand-in for mundane equipment. I'd also like to alter the reach of weapons. There are the choices to do a lot of these things in the homebrew system but they don't seem to actually DO anything in the character sheet.

There is no way to do what you want. By D&D design, whichever Ability Score you use to hit is also automatically used for damage. Also, the “Reach” modifier currently only gives a weapon with a reach of 5’ a new reach of 10’ there is currently no way to change that. That reach question is better left HERE.

Did you somehow think I didn't already know this? Not sure how this is being helpful. I'm quite obviously—by the merits of saying I'm using a house rule alone—not using the default D&D rules.

I wasn't asking for a new feature, I was asking if anyone knew a workaround, which you obviously do not. I managed to get armour to work in mechanically in the sheet using my house rules (armour does not contribute to AC but rather equals Damage Reduction of AC value minus 10 and all Dexterity modifiers irrespective of armour type contribute to overall AC) as well as for shields (four types of shield, +1 to +3). So even though not 'D&D by design', it still works in my player's character sheets because of a workaround. I want to do the same thing with weapons. So what if it's against the damn rules?

I understand you are trying to “houserule” that, I’m not an idiot. What I was trying to explain is that: “Since official D&D rules require that the same Ability score be used for both Attack and Damage, DND Beyond is not set up to allow things to work in any other way.”
In other words, the only way to accomplish what you want is the way you are already doing it manually adjusting every weapon on every character sheet one at a time.

I understand what you want is a “work around,” again, I’m not an idiot. There is no “work around” I have spent days trying to find one. It doesn’t exist. What you are asking for is a new feature that many other people have been asking for for over 2 years.
I’m sorry that the answers I have to give you are that what you want to do won’t work. Next time someone takes the time to give you honest, factual information that you requested, instead of responding to them like they’re an idiot, maybe try “thank you.”

So your question is the "reach" distance of those weapons instead of DEX/STR based ???
