Hey all! I don't seem to get this option right. I want to have an entire batch of more historical armour in my next campaing but the 'Set - Armour class'' doesn't seem to work, or I'm not getting it. What I want is to create an armour and set the AC but when I equip it, it only gives the AC of the base armour. Setting it in the Character sheet is an option but I have to create multiple entries anyway so I rather have it working correctly. Also, some armours much still be able to use the Dex modifier. And additionally I would like to edit the max Dex to some armours (like a maximum of 1 Dex instead of 2)
I have included the images of my current settings for one of them. This one still show as 12 AC on the sheet, but I set it at 13.
If I recall, that modifier is meant for things like racial traits (Tortle Shells), and class features (Unarmored Defense), not magic items. That modifier does work in those situations, it just might not on items. I honestly am not sure.
What I can tell you is that, after you add any modifiers to any homebrew, afterwards you must re-save the entire homebrew using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button or the system won’t know to pick up the changes and apply them. Also, after the main save has been hit, there is a delay of up to 20 minutes before the updated information is pushed through to the character builder/sheets.
So, re-save your armors, brows the forums for about 10ish minutes or so, and then check them again on the character sheets. If it still isn’t working then you’ll need to switch from the “Set” modifier to the “Bonus” modifier.
I am aware of the saving and the delay. So I've taken that into account. As per you tip have tried the ''Bonus'' instead of "Set" and take makes it an 26 AC Armor; so it still takes the base AC...
I don't really want to edit all my players sheet manually all the time and I still think it's possible to edit a base AC on a homebrew item, right?
Thanks for responding and helping!
(Also, I just noticed I posted this in the from catogory, whelp)

No, it is not possible to edit the base AC on a homebrewed item. You can only either add to or subtract from it using the Bonus Modifier.
Yes, it will still take the base AC into account because it’s adding a bonus.... That’s how “bonuses” work, they are “in addition to,” not “instead of.” So, if you want to start with an AC 14 piece of armor and make it 16 instead, don’t set the fixed value to 16, just set the fixed value to 2. It will follow all the same rules of 2nd-grade arithmetic.
