"Alright, how does it go again... I think it's called liar's dice. " Kinsley explains the rules
Five dice are used per player with dice cups used for concealment.
Each round, each player rolls a "hand" of dice under their cup and looks at their hand while keeping it concealed from the other players. The first player begins bidding, announcing any face value and the number of dice that the player believes are showing that value, under all of the cups in the game. Ones are often wild, always counting as the face of the current bid.
Turns rotate among the players in clockwise order. Each player has two choices during their turn: to make a higher bid, or challenge the previous bid- typically with a call of "liar". Raising the bid means either increasing the quantity, or the face value, or both, according to the specific bidding rules used. There are many variants of allowed and disallowed bids; common bidding variants, given a previous bid of an arbitrary quantity and face value, include:
the player may bid a higher quantity of any face, or the same quantity of a higher face (allowing a player to "re-assert" a face value they believe prevalent if another player increased the face value on their bid); the player may bid a higher quantity of the same face, or any quantity of a higher face (allowing a player to "reset" the quantity); the player may bid a higher quantity of the same face or the same quantity of a higher face (the most restrictive; a reduction in either face value or quantity is never allowed). In Dead Man's Chest, Bootstrap Bill's bid has a reduction in face value from the previous bid made by Davy Jones, meaning the third variant listed above is not the one used in the movie.
If the current player challenges the previous bid, all dice are revealed. If the bid is valid (at least as many of the face value and any wild aces are showing as were bid), the bidder wins. Otherwise, the challenger wins. The player who loses a round loses one of their dice. The last player to still retain a die (or dice) is the winner. The loser of the last round starts the bidding on the next round. If the loser of the last round was eliminated, the next player starts the new round.

Astara walks over there.
A couple people look over, but most keep their attention on the center. Most seem very worried
Astara tries to see what's in the center.

Shes able to push past people. On the table os a note made of clippings, similar to a ransom note
"What is it?"
"Its... Something from a hunter..."
"A hunter?" Astara reads the note.
It talks about someone named Callarris, sometimes shortened to Callie, and mentions Wocki a couple times. Its an ultimatum. Turn Callie over or the killers of Wocki will be tracked down, and be slowly and painfully killed
"Callie? I... I know that name."
"You haven't been around much... But we all know her well... Where do you know her name from?"
Astara thinks back. "I think Shardia mentioned her, once."
"Thatd make sense... Shardia is currently with her, in one of the rooms... Did she tell you anything about her?"
"I don't think so. But I need to talk to Shardia."
"Head on in, then... I sure she wont mind much...."
Astara walks in.
Shardia is sitting on the bed, theres a person lying down, head on her on her lap, shivering, who shes trying to comfort
"Shardia? Callie?" Astara asks softly.
Both look up at her "Hello, Astara... How are you?" "Wh-Who are-....I think Ive seen you around a few times...."
"I'm okay, but someone needs your help." She turns to Callie. "My name is Astara. I heard what happened."
Shardia sighs "A few people do, today... Who is it?" Callie tenses up a bit "I...Hello, Astars....."
"A boy named Nerr. It's a long story, but if he isn't helped within the next day, he'll be unjustly imprisoned." She turns to Callie again. "Are you okay?"
"Where is he, and how can I help?" "I....For now.....Im... Theyre after me.... And after them..."
"He's in the tavern. He needs you to agree to make sure he stays out of trouble." She turns back to Callie. "Who are you talking about?"
She takes out a runic "Ill be back soon..." "The.... The Kitakis....."
"Who are the Kitakis?"
"Theyre..... A mafia family..."
"Why do they want you?"

A figure walks into the tavern. They have heavy but sleek armor colored blue-grey with additional red plating on it. Only their hands show from beneath the arm, even their arms covered with heavy gauntlets. Their face is obscured by a black visor, and they hold a metallic spear with a tip the glows electric blue. "Is this a Refuge?" they ask, their voice distorted to the point of being unrecognizable.
K: "Hello! Yes, it is!! Welcome!"
They tilt their head. "Who are you? And why are you unarmored?"
"Kalnor. I dont wear armor cause I dont know how to use it well"
"How did you survive?"
"....." He looks down "Mostly friends"
Even through their helmet, and Kalnor can tell they're confused. "Friends?"
"... Yes? You know, the people you like talking to"
"I haven't talked to anyone since my last Refuge."
"How long ago and where?"
"Days. You don't count the days when you need to focus on trying to survive."
"...I did.... Whats your name?"
"I'm called Wraith-6. I don't go by anything else anymore."
"Well, nice to meet you!"
"Is it?"
"Why wouldnt it be?"
"Most things aren't nice."
".. Where are you from?"
"The Wastes. Same as everyone else. The city isn't safe to live in for long."
"Do you know what world?"
"The world. Where else would it be?"
".... Do you not know the concept of a multiverse?"
There's a crackling noise that could be a snort. "Multiverse? That sounds like something you got out of an old book in one of the Fallen Towers."
"... I dont know what that is. Where do you think you are?"
"A Refuge. This is a bigger oasis then most of the ones I've seen, but it's still an oasis."
"....Oasis??"
"That's what I said."
"I have no idea what you mean by that...."
Wraith-6 gestures outside. "That's an oasis. You can tell because it's not scorching hot, and only some of the creatures you encounter want to kill you." It's hard to tell if they're being sarcastic or not.
"...Thats a lot of places..."
"Your jokes aren't funny."
