Do any of your groups do rotating DMs - whether in the same campaign, switching off for new campaigns, or for occasional one-shots to give the usual DM a break?
So, 27 to 36 people in three groups of 7 to 9 or so. Depends on who is off and available. This next weekend I have 18 people in session, lol! Thankfully, only 8 can actually do anything.
Yeah I do rotating, and I help out DMs in youth groups locally. Sometimes helping out is just guiding them, sometimes it is writing something up for them.
My rotation is 3 sessions off, 6 sessions on. Basically a month off out of every three months, and either Jerry or Dani takes the others running their games. I usually attend as "support" DM if asked, but otherwise I am busy hacking away.

I've only ever done it once - mostly because it's my own homebrew, and I've got scattered plans. The only time we did this was once - as a one shot - one of my players wanted a shot at being a DM - so we ended the previous session with the party taking camp in the cave.
So on the swap day - we had the bard (one of the party members) - telling a story about these other heroes.
I then stood up, the other player took the DM seat, and I put a sheet of random Level 1 characters that we all picked from.
A related question for the thread: Do any of your groups do rotating DMs - whether in the same campaign, switching off for new campaigns, or for occasional one-shots to give the usual DM a break?
I would love to find a group where we could adopt something like the Ars Magica model where everyone has multiple characters, and you switch up between adventures who DMs, and who plays different roles in the party

I have a group of friends that is mostly made up of people who have little experience playing Dnd. There is really only one other player, the guy who got me into Dnd, that is willing to DM and we sort of take turns DMing the same group. I have only ever DMed one-shots, he has DMed a couple short campaigns. Right now though it seems like he will be DMing for a while.
Question: Your dice - are they all from one set or are they dice muts (coming from different sets)?
I roll a few d20s to see which ones will behave, then I select the dice that match those sets and use them. I always have at least two full sets ready to go for any session. I also have character-specific dice that always join the lineup if I'm playing the associated character.
That said, I'm very partial to my metal dice and inevitably start with a couple of those sets and switch to acrylic only if the metals betray me.
Question: Dor your campaigns do you prefer to make a completely Homebrew world? Personally I do as it means the players can’t look at the stats and it’s so much fun.
Question: Your dice - are they all from one set or are they dice muts (coming from different sets)?
I have a small, locking box that measures about 8 inches wide, 5 inches deep, and 4 inches tall. It has over a hundred dice, lol.
I make sure I have 6d6, 4d20, 3d10, and then two of everything else. I tend to prefer green dice, but always get seconds in different colors.
I lean towards a set of green dice I just like the feel of, but otherwise it depends on what speaks to me that session. Since I use d14, d16, d24, and d30 in my games behind the screen, it can be a bit of an odd collection, lol.
I do want a d18. But also a d25 and d50 and d33. Two of each, thank you. Not big on the odd numbers, really, but I have value in 25 and 33, lol

I like making homebrew worlds, since I can tailor it to my players and put in the elements I like. That being said, I find that doing this often takes a loooot of work, and I can just make preexisting settings my own by adding or changing details to better suit the campaign. I'm using the latter method, for now at least.

I homebrew my entire world.
Monsters, often times I will use base what they have (for attacks, special abilities, saves, etc) - but depending on how many people are in the party (if someone can't make it, I might reduce hit points, or if it's a monster the party has out leveled - I will close it in D&D Beyond - and change those base stats). My players are really good about not metagaming regardless.

For my answer, see my signature. Lol.
And then realize that I am working on all the rules changes to fit the world all this month on weekends and at least three hours a night after work.

I create homebrew worlds because it is fun. I don't really do it so that the players won't know anything about the world because they live there so it makes sense to know stuff about it. I do it because it is so fun to fit as many weird things in my world as possible. Right now, my world is on the back of a giant flying space turtle who smokes a pipe which creates the clouds, the underworld is literally under the world and is on the underside of the turtle, there is a whole city chained to the shell of the turtle that is being dragged through space behind it, the sun is a blazing arrow but it used to be a pteradactyl, and I have a place called Fatlantis, a city that sank beneath the sea because all its citizens were so overweight that they caused the foundations to collapse. I also have a homebrew pantheon full of wacky "gods" who caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. My world is a big jigsaw puzzle of things that I thought were cool, funny, and inspiring.
Dice: They gotta be complete sets. Or totally fully mismatched. But I prefer a matching set. I've retired a couple sets because I lost one of them. I still have the poor things, but I don't use them.
Worlds: Ehh. I have a spicy opinion about players knowing monster stats, but this probably ain't the place for it. There's pros and cons to both approaches and they're fairly evenly matched in my estimation.
So, 27 to 36 people in three groups of 7 to 9 or so. Depends on who is off and available. This next weekend I have 18 people in session, lol! Thankfully, only 8 can actually do anything.

My groups don't rotate GMs - I'm often the one that has to wear that hat.
My dice are from all over - bought and gifts. I often have a hard time not buying dice if I see a pretty set.

Ah, but when you're rolling dice - are all the d4, d6, d8, etc - from the same set?
Or do you have a purple d4, a red d6, a green and yellow d8, that aren't from specific sets?
I see you mentioned difficulty resisting sets - but curious if when you play you only roll "set" dice or mix and match?
