I'm gonna guess you get an ice pick stuck in your eye. That's why I stopped him lol.
Witch Bolt is actually usable in that game! You can put a full 100 feet between the caster and the target before it breaks the spell. With the new weapon attacks and some of the enchanted weapons, you can have a melee guy set you up to hit a high-AC target for one turn, hit em with Witch Bolt, and then just zap em every turn with no regard for their defenses. That's how it was always meant to work.
You do get an ice pick in the eye, but it has a happy ending.
Im also kind of liking the changes to spiritual weapon. It’s treated basically as a summoned creature. It goes on its own initiative count, but enemies will also attack, and destroy, it. And it has the special attack of whatever weapon it is you summon.
Im not loving their solution to whack-a-mole healing. If you drop, when you get back up you only have a move and bonus action, no action. Thing is, it doesn’t do anything to change the math of damage numbers completely overwhelming healing numbers, so you just get screwed. And without an action, you can’t even disengage and run away, you’re just standing there with 5hp still surrounded by enemies, and you’ve lost any concentration you had.
Still, though, loving the game. The NPCs are so well written with good, well-rounded personalities. The story is engaging, and it looks really good.
Anyone play BG3 on PS5 yet? Or has it even come out for the console? I haven't done PC gaming in some time, but if it's fun on the PS, I may give it a try.

It's going to come out on PS5 on September 6th, and on Xbox some time as late as 2024. Pretty sad for me, since Xbox is the only thing I've got that's remotely capable of running it.

Yeah, I learned from D:OS2 to stock up on revivify scrolls at every opportunity. They're kind of rare in this one though. I agree with you, it's a bit of a death spiral to rob you of your action. It's especially strange because you retain your failed death saving throws, I'm pretty sure. At least until the end of the combat. That seems like enough, to me. Especially with all the incidental damage you can take from bombs and surfaces and big monsters jumping in your general vicinity.

unrelated, I am in the midst of preparing for this weekend's session, which is back to classes. They want me to put up the classes on the website for experimentation (read: figuring out min/maxing) by end of the month. Hi, I’m DrakenBrine, here’s my Sig and characters
I’m not usually a big video game guy. I’m not very good at them, and I just end up being really busy, so I never have the time to get good at any games. However, I played (and failed at) Breath of the Wild and it was enjoyable enough that I got the new one this week. It’s pretty good, but I’m still not very good at it…
On the side of games I’m good at, we had session 0/0.5 today with 5 party members (of six) and our incredible GM. I’m playing a human Witch (a class I’ve designed with my GM, as Brennan hasn’t released his yet…) and the rest of the party is a monk, paladin, artificer, artificer (not there today), and undecided, though he’s between rogue, dex based paladin, fighter, and bard. He’s got time to decide, as we’re still level 0… We survived a zombie, got into town, and got to work doing… Chores!
Cool, that means I'll probably be able to get some sort of deal on BG3 around Black Friday or Christmas. I rarely buy games when they come out. I finished Jedi: Fallen Order only a couple of weeks before Jedi: Survivor came out.
Movies, anyone planning on catching Last Voyage of the Demeter (new movie based on the ship's log that brought Dracula from Europe in the novel)? I was curious when the trailer dropped, it's actually if not my favorite definitely one of my favorite parts of the novel, and it looks like the reviews are better than what you'd expect for a late summer horror flick dropped in the wake of Barbenheimer (haven't caught those yet either, will probably do Demeter first).

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
One of my players from my D&D game, bought me BG3 last night.
My video card struggles at "Ultra" (which is not surprising - the machine I got was pretty much just for writing - never expected to play any games on it, as I usually stick to console gaming, unless it's old, retro DOS game). Even when I tell it to "Auto Detect" it swears Ultra is what I should run it at - but the game becomes much more manageable set to "Low." (It's the same thing for Sons of the Forest, which is a fun, but chaotic survival game).
I played a bit - not gonna spoil anything - but got to a beach - found a crypt - fell in a trap - and things went rapidly south since I had - in doing so - accidentally split the party.
So gonna restore and maybe not do that, since my main character perished.
I also loaded up Wizardry 8 (which is a great CRPG from years ago) - and been playing that again - because it appeared on my YT Stream and got me all itchy to play it again, even though I've beat it like twice - I was seeing things in this person's YT Play through - that I either didn't do or don't remember. So got me all wanting to play it again.
Also been spending the last few days (on my world's site, I have monsters listed and their lore - not their stats - so players - and myself, can read it - and been revamping a bunch of the lore or making it match the lore I've since introduced since posting them and such). That's actually been quite fun.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
A red giant sun, seven planets, life on the fourth planet including three sentient species (one humanoid, one balloon shaped and one foxlike), moons around all but the innermost planet and an asteroid belt between the fourth and fifth planets which can be mined for various precious and radioactive minerals.
Question: What is your dream solar system? This includes sun type, number of planets, life of the planets, moons, and asteroid belts?
I don't know nearly enough astrophysics to do this properly, but...
Type A star. Think in terms of an atom -- Nitrogen, with planets as electrons.
2 Gas Giants, orbits at 75 degrees to main plane, opposing, at extremes. Total of 25 moons between them.
Oort cloud beyond them in a near complete dyson sphere style surround, a mere two klicks thick for the cloud's hard, asteroid-based core.
1 frosty blob just outside the habitable zone no moon, but rings for days. High albedo.
2 planets in too close -- a mercury and venus. the outer one (venus) has a large moon (about half the size) that is stuck on the side opposite the Sun, giving it a coronal refraction area that is *almost* habitable.
2 habitable zone planets. One has three moons, one has two moons. Of the triplets, one is habitable itself, with a strong core, the others are more like rocks. Takes up a good handspan's worth of sky on the main planet. (that is, if you hold your palm up in the sky, the moon would be the size of your palm, without fingers, in the sky, so much larger than our moon, which is about two fingers or so). Habitable moon is blue and green, blah blah, oceans and the like. Telescopes are a wonder!
THe planet with two moons is habitable and kinda "in waiting" for the folks on the first one to mess things up. Because, well, people. So, also oceans, moons are smaller, more copper than iron, more nickel than tin. Gods use it as a resort town.
60 recognized constellations I can never be arsed enough to actually lay them all out.
Huh, come to think of it, I should probably put all of this into my current set up, lol. I have an oort cloud, I have an A star, I have a 3 moon main with a big habitable moon. That's all, though. I mean, the whole practtical universse for Wyrlde is the size of the solar system, so expanding on it wouldn't be a bad thing.

I don't have a Switch so I've not been playing Tears, no. I'm sure I'd like it though. It looks like a triumph of game design.
The PC I built in.... 2017 is still serving me well. I guess that's about when the Switch came out, too. Neat.

Question: What is your dream solar system? This includes sun type, number of planets, life of the planets, moons, and asteroid belts?
MY INFO
A red giant sun, seven planets, life on the fourth planet including three sentient species (one humanoid, one balloon shaped and one foxlike), moons around all but the innermost planet and an asteroid belt between the fourth and fifth planets which can be mined for various precious and radioactive minerals.
I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
ooh, cool
MY INFO
