hows about this for a game, its a door from fourth dimension that opens into a third dimensional realm
and this theme echo's throughout the game.as a dual nature of what is done in the realm people can use a fourth dimensional action and work outside of
the mantle. or they can use a third dimensional action and act within the mantle People are sent through from a realm that can be evil, good, or neutral and any of the sub alignments lawful chaotic. and whatever they do be it fellowship journey or adventure would correlate with their alignment they wouldn't know what force of alignment is favoring them offhand with their correlating realm but there would be a alignment with what they were doing and its part of the fun to figure out which diety brings them back to the fourth dimension to tell their story because it could either be a force of good or a of evil and that is what
lets the player decide if they want to make a rule or not because theres different options depending on which force you tell the story to lets you choose.
So i think this is a fun game people will want to try because i see the described area's of the world as the mantle easier to travel on one side of a coin but on
the other is the freedom to deduce whats around based on the described area's and then go off the path make art determine what is your fourth dimension and go that path.
*edit* forgot to say the reason to be called back to the fourth dimension after people have done enough in the beginning of the game is that the force that calls them back they can have a chat with them and figure out if they are being favored by evil good or neutral.
This idea of mine is getting more and more clearer but ill try to clearify because i was in a hurry this morning and i just didnt even edit my post but the key elements are a door from a fourth dimension where people have like a chat with beings that they make up or use from the 5e rulebooks that sends them from there home realm to this realm im talking about where they can use the mantle which is something from the realm im talking about to help people travel around the world map and in the towns and the mantle is considered 3rd dimensional maybe because its like a natural part of the world and to leave the mantle and to just travel without the engine that moves people around the world is like going out of the bounds of time and its like using the 4th dimension from beyond the door to do whatever it people from out there do but most likely stuff from the 5e rulebooks from forgotten realms do world building do campaign from the rulebooks if a place near the mantle seems like it would be a good place to start a campaign and when done go back to the mantle to head somewhere else etc. stuff like that. another point i was making is that fellowship and journey and adventure mode would correlate with good evil and neutral but nobody doing a fellowship knows at the time weather its a good or evil or neutral alignment but since the person who does the most of
one kind sets themselves up with the favor of whatever they decide has happend more with the overall fellowship or adventure or journey that is what determines if it was good or evil or neutral so basicly its up to whoever is playing to decide and they can choose to tell other people or not its totally up to them.
It seems kind of like a board game that developing into a board game that is able to be played as a supplement as well but i like to keep putting this idea
that three items could be found and thats what would call someone back to the fourth dimension because that gives people the chance to either pick one of each mode likely in the process of keeping one alignment in mind or maybe finding one item in each mode and thus likely finding one of each alignment unless they were all guided by the same spectrum no matter what they did in their story. and then maybe if so they could try working outside of the third dimension if they were all guided there by one diety they didn't want to follow. so theres lots of options but its not like its unguided so people dont have to
feel like they dont know what to do. I think its fun to experiment with different combinations of path like what would happen if while doing the story arc to save someone they take a good path and the prisoner is happy with that but there is some evil forces that are not happy what would they do to try and swing things so the neutral forces swing things in their favor.
and other players what are they doing to see to it that their alignment wins the favor of whatever there doing are they trying to help other folks of the good spectrum or are they trying to help neutral to try and maybe secure fellowship and adventure for say lawful good by getting someone neutral to help them
before someone evil gets them to help them to get maybe journey and adventure. see because even though the three modes are variable to be any alignment
the player characters character sheets would have alignments and they would most likely be trying to do the most of a mode of playing in order to secure
it for their alignment so people would have a idea who they would need to help in order to defeat their opponents by be friending the people in the middle. but not needing to attack the evil people if you are good but both sides would want to make the best friend of the neutral to gain more modes for their side.
one more thing and i think ive covered most of the ground i wanted to covered its kind of like a board game and how evil peoples would maybe know when they are done with a beginning or middle or end of the story, its like a video game but i wouldnt want to use cards because its not that kind of game its more like a dnd board game so i would use tokens or coins for the modes when someone starts a round they would take a coin for what mode there playing and then take coin for which one of the three quests there working on and maybe a coin for a story arc only one i have is the saving someone but there could be more made. and there is ways that alignment gets put into the process of where the person is saved from likely the opposite alignment city and it affects the other two quests like where they take that person to or where to get supplies from or where to raid. and also i wanted to discuss the evil people getting three items while there running around like those could be neccessary to remove the forgiveness from the evil characters so that they can escape the grasps of age over the 50 years of the beginning of the game. but they wouldnt really need it because evil people live longer if they have monster race i think so anyway. Its nice to have 3 items for a rule after the beginning stage is over because you only need 1 item to make a rule for yourself 2 for a rule for a couple of people no more than 5 sound good? and 3 for a whole town and the surrounding area its in. but people can think bigger, 4 items for maybe up to 10 people, 6 items might make a rule for bigger area etc. so Items say from the rulebooks would be interesting to find out in the world and keep a hold of not only for removing curses from people but also items for the supplies quest and maybe just to stop other players from making bigger rules than you do.
*edit* i forgot that evil players wouldnt have to use items to make a rule but its smart to because evil players get a forgiveness that brings them closer to becoming something bad kind of like from the adventures in middle earth 5e book there is a thing in there for becoming evil called a shadow weakness.
not really sure my type of game im looking for has to many people who are interested thats why i called it a new path, if it was like all the other games people play id probably use a spoiler.
I guess the question here is, are you actively looking for players to play this campaign that you're detailing here, or are you seeking advice? If you are looking for players, which is what this forum is for, why are you detailing the entire campaign? If you are looking for advice on building the campaign, I will move it to the appropriate forum.
Thanks for the support, I dont know ive been trying to get to join a game or start one since i signed up and havent had any luck. Sorry if i seemd troublesome just trying to figure out all the details that i need to figure out and hoping that would appeal to people who were looking to sign up.
The problem with trying to recruit people is not giving away the entire campaign while trying to do so. That's why I've asked what your intentions for this thread were. There seem to be a lot of spoilers here, which would make people unwilling to join. They know key plot points already. If you are looking for recruitment, you might want to cut things out, or use spoiler tags.
Where would you recommend that i post this kind of campaign. why does knowing the plot points matters in a free roaming campaign with a open world...
I was thinking of moving stuff from the threads into a campaign place within the notes.
but nobody has expressed any interest to join so why bother?
or do you mean like im giving away all the stuff people can steal it and make great games that everyone will want to play if thats so be my guest good luck
Because you're not actively recruiting for a D&D game, I'm moving this thread to Adohand's Kitchen. Feel free to continue your brainstorming of the campaign there. Bounce some more ideas around and see where it goes.
