Don't you just love running around, blasting demons full of lead?
Also, I have decided to try my luck at making a thread (because let's be honest; a lot of it is luck based) and make my Kobolds with Cannons thread!
I’ve come to the conclusion that making a thread is a combination of 4 factors
1. Premise. The thread’s premise must be fun and somewhat original to Adohands. It won’t work well if similar threads are alive
2. Luck. You gotta hope that people like the thread and actually click on it
3. Popularity and Notoriety. People more well know are more likely to have popular threads, as that’s more people that may click on it. It also helps if you’ve made other threads before, so people have something to expect
4. Advertising. You gotta make the fact that you’re making a thread and it’s basic idea known. If people don’t know it’s coming, or what it’s about, they may not end up posting on it
Just an idea though. I could be dead wrong

Second person OP. The whole OP doesn't have to be in this, but if you put an intro or something that's saying "you" directly, it might make people more likely to interact. Probably because psychology stuff.
Gimmick. Not necessarily needed, but makes the thread more unique and therefore more likeable. Think the Smorgasboard's power points system or the Dome being a thread themed for combat.
Threads can succeed without this or die with it, but these are just some things I noticed. Also, yes, I find it very enjoyable to blast demons full of lead.
Edit: And you don't have to do any of these-- just do what you want to!

This should be around PG-13 rating. It's war, but no suggestive scenes or something like that. Keep the romance (if any) light. These Kobolds are too busy fighting the war, after all.
I realize that this is about different races fighting each other, but there should be NO racial statements. If someone wants to play as a Fairy that was raised by kobolds, fine; don't overreact about it or take it to extensive lengths.

Game Rules and Background
It's 1345, 2 years after the start of the war. We are currently on the 156th General; hopefully, he will live long and prosper. Oh wait; sorry, we're actually on the 157th General; the 156th died in an air raid about 2 hours ago. Anyways, most generals die pretty fast, so most people will have their shot at being General at least once before being grievously injured or dying and having to retire. Generals, the top of the chain, are the head honchos, the big cheese, the top dog; etc., etc. They can issue orders to the Sergeants, who are below them, who issue orders to the Corporals, who issue orders to the Privates. Currently, the hierarchy is:
General: Platyboss
Sergeant II: None
Sergeant: None
Corporals: None
Private II: None
Privates: Everyone else.
There is also another rank, but these guys are special. Hence the name. Usually, these are the anomalies, the Scale Sorcerers, the Inventors, the Urds, strong members of other races.
Specialists: None
To get a promotion, you have to gain a certain amount of renown, then appeal to one of your elders (The rank above you). You gain a specific amount of renown each day, depending on your rank. You can also get renown by completing certain tasks or missions issued by your elders. Specialists instead move up in tiers, such as Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, etc., up to Tier V.
Events will occur every 2 real life days. I roll on a table to see if an event even happens, and what it is.
Renown and Renown Per Day (RPD):
Private/Specialist Tier I: 1 renown every two days.
Private II/Specialist II: 1 RPD.
Corporal/Specialist III: 2 RPD.
Sergeant/Specialist IV: 4 RPD.
Sergeant II/Specialist V: 8 RPD.
General: 15 RPD.
The higher the renown, the higher the rank. However, you can also LOSE renown in some such ways
Disrespecting an Elder (-1 renown; the Sergeants and Specialist IV+ can do this one on their own. This one is really dependent on the honor system, and please don't abuse your power.)
Denying an Important Mission (-2 renown)
Sabotage (-5 renown)
Assassination attempt on High Ranking Official (-10 renown)
Assassination of High Ranking Official (-20 Renown)
Abusing your power (-10 the first time, -100 the second, -1000 the third and beyond. Don't abuse your power. Only I can do this decrease, btw)
You can get demoted, too, if you die, get grievously injured (which means drop to 0 hitpoints during combat), or lose more than 50 renown.
Oh yeah, listen to the mod(s). Which would be... just me, right now. (Platyboss)
A quick preview of my thread. Tell me if I could do something better. I think the threads with long/complicated descriptions usually don't succeed, so I tried making it simple. Finger's crossed.

Gnomes are knock off Hobbits! It seems focused on kobolds but I would’ve totally played done a Hobbit
Is there combat since it’s a war or..?
I find that Forum combat is generally slow; however, some missions will, inevitably, have combat. Those will be conducted in PMs, so that you can easily know when your turn is. ALso, some events will have combat, but that will be single round combat and players will have the option to join or stay out of it.
Also, you could play as a Hobbit. You could play as a "reformed" (at least in the Kobolds' eyes) Hobbit who is fighting on the Kobolds' side.

As for your character stat block, you can use a premade Kobold statblock or make a character, starting at level one, and treating 1 renown as 100 XP.

One day I am gonna grow wings
A chemical reaction
Hysterical and useless
I'd love to play a little kobold!
