Say a Swashbuckler rogue has the revanent blade feat, a double bladed scimitar and a few levels in paladin/fighter or anything with Great weapon fighting.
would the fighting style allow re-rolls of 1 and 2 on the sneak attack damage?

It's probably not intended for that kind of interaction and I've seen where someone supposedly called WotC to find out some specifics and sneak attack wasn't included because it's not specifically from the weapon (the half-orc's Brutal Critical wasn't included either, which makes sense). Looking at it from that angle, the sneak attack damage isn't delivered because of the weapon and is more in the delivery of the strike. As a result, I'd say no.
Great Weapon fighting is a little underpowered in my opinion, and the build that you are mentioning isn't likely to pop up often. As such, I'd probably allow it, particularly if the rogue levels were low or the campaign wasn't going to go as high. A rogue 18/Paladin 2 dropping a crit with a Smite would roll 4d4 + 4d8 + 18d6 minimum. Potentially adding even half of the non-d8s as rerolls would take a long time to sort out. The closer to that possibility happening in a game, the less likely I'd be to allow it. It'd probably be a ton of fun for the player, but watching someone roll even the minimum 26 dice would potentially be less fun for everyone else involved and bog down combat like crazy. If another player is a minionmancer, each round could take way too long. If there were a way to speed that up, such as having enough dice for every single roll, then I'd be more likely to consider it.
GWF requires that the damage come from the weapon specifically if I recall.
That's what I was seeing in the clarification. Something like Flame Tongue or a spell like Holy Weapon would work since the extra damage comes from the weapon or the spell changes the weapon to deal more damage. Basically, if the weapon deals the same damage regardless of target and number of attacks, GWF probably applies to it, otherwise likely not.
The fact that Sneak Attack matches the damage of the weapon used to make the attack makes me think that it is considered part of the weapon attack, unlike Hex and Smite that were referred to in this question to Jeremy Crawford, but I suppose it could be interpreted the other way.

Does Sneak Attack say “you deal” or does it say “the attack does” the extra damage?

When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit.
So either “the attack” or “the weapon” has to the do the damage. If “you” or a spell or other ability does the damage GWFS won’t re-roll the 1s & 2s.
Sneak attack damage is considered part of the weapon damage, it isn't tacked on like smite. This may be wrong, but this is the solution that seems the most intuitive

Apparently, since “you” do the extra damage instead of the weapon or the attack, it would not RAW. 🤷♂️
If I’m reading the GWF correctly it says “a damage die” singular so that means if you roll multiple 1’s or 2’s you can only reroll 1 die? Doesn’t DB scimitar do 2d4? So that’s quite a few chances of a 1 or 2 if you include the sneak attack so doesn’t seem that advantageous if it’s only 1 die. I would assume it’s only the weapon damage but that’s up to the DM.
If you use Great Weapon Fighting with a feature like Divine Smite or a spell like hex, do you get to reroll any 1 or 2 you roll for the extra damage? The Great Weapon Fighting feature—which is shared by fighters and paladins—is meant to benefit only the damage roll of the weapon used with the feature. For example, if you use a greatsword with the feature, you can reroll any 1 or 2 you roll on the weapon’s 2d6. If you’re a paladin and use Divine Smite with the greatsword, Great Weapon Fighting doesn’t let you reroll a 1 or 2 that you roll for the damage of Divine Smite.
Same would be true for Sneak Attack. Feels like this would be easily solved by releasing an errata to change the wording to "When you roll a 1 or 2 on a weapon damage die..."
Hey,

would the fighting style allow re-rolls of 1 and 2 on the sneak attack damage?
I would say yes.

It says "you deal an extra..."

Tough one hey folks, until the wizards clarify then it may be dms discretion.
Even after. RAW never prevents a DM from deciding to do things differently and that's one of the most RAW aspects that few people question.
Yes, Rule Zero, should be covered in everybody's session zero.

yup, could always give it a go and then if its a bit broken remove it.
