The character tool currently says that a PC is proficient with the attacks provided by this path. However, unlike the Tabaxi and Lizardfolk natural weapons, it's not explicitly stated that these attacks are considered as unarmed strikes. Where did the proficiency come from?
EDIT: Are those attacks covered by this even without being specified like the Lizardfolk's bite?
Instead of using a weapon to make a melee weapon attack, you can use an unarmed strike: a punch, kick, head-butt, or similar forceful blow (none of which count as weapons). On a hit, an unarmed strike deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1 + your Strength modifier. You are proficient with your unarmed strikes.

They are not “unarmed strikes,” they are “Natural Weapons.” The difference being that if something calls for “a melee weapon attack” then Unarmed Strikes are included, but if something specifies “an attack with a melee weapon” the Unarmed Strikes are not included but Natural Weapons are.

It would be counted as an unarmed strike (at least I would rule it). It makes sense, as it is claws etc, Which are akin to hands or feet.
