Rock Camouflage. The rock troll has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in rocky terrain. If not moving, (asleep, prone, sitting) Stealth is considered activated automatically.

Keen Smell. The rock troll has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Stonework. Rock trolls have an innate understanding of structures made of stone, such as bridges or walls, and have advantage on attacks to damage them. OR they have advantage on any checks needed to reinforce, strengthening or rebuild such construction.

Soft Spot. If an attack is directed at the underbelly of a rock troll, the attack has disadvantage, but if the attack hits it is treated as a critical.

Actions

Multiattack. The rock troll makes two fist attacks.

Charge. If the rock troll moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a fist attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 9 (2d8) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Rock. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 40/200 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Description

Rock trolls are a (smaller) giant race. Usually no taller than 8 feet.  Humanoid in appearance, but covered from head to toe in rock-like skin and their back topped with a stony carapace. The only "soft spot" being their underbelly.

They don't create complicated communities. Usually preferring a solitary existence or sharing a space with a mate. But, their ability to speak common has meant they can find work among the civilized races on occasion. This is usually in the form of guarding over something, but more often than not, it is keeping watch over stone structures (which they have a natural knack for maintaining) in out of the way places that most humanoids would find burdensome to keep manned regularly. Hence the commonly used term "Bridge Troll".

No different than other races though, some are outright hostile or even feral and can't be reasoned with. And it is not unheard of for them to eat members of sentient races. But can usually be sated with other foodstuffs and are especially fond of beverages they can't produce themselves, like wine or beer.
