Mobile Suit. The Gyan requires a pilot to function properly. Without a pilot, the Gyan suffers from the effects of being Prone and Petrified. When a pilot enters the cockpit, they must succeed on a DC 11 Intelligence check to operate the machine. On a success, the Gyan then substitutes the pilot's Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores for its own and the pilot has full control of its actions.

Hover. The Gyan can take the Dash action as a bonus action.

Nuclear Reactor. When it reaches zero hit points, the Gyan's reactor explodes. All creatures within a 100-foot radius must make DC 15 Dexterity saving throws or take 26 (5d8+4) Force damage (half damage on a success). Meanwhile, the pilot must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 59 (10d10+4) Force damage (half damage on a success).

Actions

Beam Saber. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, range 40 ft., 1 target. Hit: 63 (9d12 + 5) Radiant/Force damage.

Missile Shield. This weapon contains both the Needle Missiles and the Hide Bombs. For the Needle Missiles, roll one time for each enemy. For the Hide Bombs, use an Action to place them. Creatures passing through the space occupied by the Bombs must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or take 10d12 Force damage.

Needle Missiles: Ranged Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, range 100/300 ft., 3 targets. Hit: 24 (4d10 + 4) Force damage each.

Reactions

Eject. The pilot of the Gyan can use its reaction to eject from the Gyan's cockpit. This counts as the pilot disengaging; the pilot cannot be hit by opportunity attacks from leaving an enemy's melee range.

Description

The YMS-15 Gyan was a Mobile Suit developed in late U.C. 0079 by the Zimmad Company for use of the Principality of Zeon. The Gyan was a fairly versatile unit, capable of operating equally well in space and on the ground. It used a powerful beam saber that outstripped even the ones used by the Federation's Gundam units and was equipped with a Missile Shield. This defensive armament concealed twenty-five Hide Bombs (a variation of Zeon's naval mines developed for use in space) as well as sixty Needle Missiles. These missiles were not capable of completely destroying or even penetrating Mobile Suit armor; rather, they were intended to constrict enemy movement and to intimidate. The Gyan, however, was pulled from mass production due to the creation of the far superior Gelgoog units.
