Pack Charge. When this creature is within 20 ft. of at least two other Dust Striders, or is in range of one, and this one is within 10 ft. of another, each creature can use the "Stampede" action. Creature must feel threatened, but does not have to have taken any damage.
Stampede. This creature and all others in its pack take their action at the same time if they are all able to move. They must move in a straight line for their full movement. If they move within 15 ft. of another creature, that creature must make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) saving throw. The trampled creature takes 5d8+6 bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone on a failed save, or half that and stays upright on a successful save. The Dust Strider can either continue in the same direction or lose all movement for its next turn.
Multiattack: When this creature takes the attack action, it may attack again, but the second attack must use the tail if Stomp was used, or vice versa. When attacking twice, the two targets must be on separate sides of the creature.
Stomp. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 26 (5d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 29 (6d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Rider-averse. If another creature attempts to ride the Dust Strider, the rider must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom (Animal Handling) saving throw. If failed, the Dust Strider can take the "Stampede" action but with only half of its movement and it does not have to continue moving to keep its movement after it completes its Stampede.
Description
The Young Dust Strider is a tall, long-legged creature that stands usually from 20 to 40 ft. tall, its legs going halfway up this length. They live in dry, arid climates and are often the only large animal in the area. They travel in packs that number anywhere from four to twenty-five, moving from oases to springs and feast off of much of the vegetation that grows around there. The young in the pack are very unlikely to wander far away from the adult Dust striders, even when tempted with food.
