Traits
Charge. If the centaur moves at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a pike attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 10 (3d6) piercing damage.
Actions
Multiattack. The centaur makes two attacks: one with its pike and one with its hooves or two with its longbow.
Pike. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) piercing damage.
Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Longbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 150/600 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage.
Description
A centaur has the body of a great horse topped by a humanoid torso, head, and arms. Reclusive wanderers, they avoid conflict but fight fiercely when pressed.
Should probably make the torso and arms less human and more humanoid, to make them more interesting
Barbarians taking path of the totem spirit could certainly do just that, with their features becoming more feral, based on the spirit animal they chose. Eg. Wolf totem barbarians might passively have sharp teeth or clawed hands & feet
I found this very fascinating, but I was told there was a playable version of the centaur. I didn't know whether this was it or not.
Centaurs have 6 limbs and are therefore, Insects
Funny how, yet again, Wizards is TERRIFIED of letting players have large size characters. Monster centaurs: large, PC centaurs: medium. Small PC races, okay, but large races MUST be reduced, maybe giving them the lift/push/carry as a large creature, but that's a cop-out.
That is located in the Ravnica supplemental book: Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica
Are there any rules for character centaurs?
Wizards, please make this a playable race! Homebrewers have done so much with the lore of these "monsters" so surely you could do us the kindness of making them playable. It seems like so many games both table top and digital are afraid of making centaurs playable, mermaids and harpies could use a little love too.
It is a playable race, located in the book: Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica
yes
Why are they classified as monstrosities and not fey?
But no exoskeleton, therefore are not insects
No, it's not.
For people who don't know, centaur is an officially playable race introduced in Guildmasters guide to Ravnica. They then appeared again in Mythical odysseys of Theros. I really find it really weird that they are medium size though and that they are fey instead of monstrosity but all around they are a good race. Check out the website ******* if you dont want to buy the books.
Is the pronunciation guide done by Marisha Ray???
I really like the idea of their intergenerational migrations.
There is a playable version. It's in the Odyssey of the Dragonlords by Modiphius. Campaign and world based on greek mythology.
LoGiC tO tHe InFiNiTy
It is with Theros
Yeah, I've heard Matt and Marisha on a lot of the monster pronunciations.
