Amphibious. The dragon turtle can breathe air and water.
Multiattack. The dragon turtle makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws. It can make one tail attack in place of its two claw attacks.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 26 (3d12 + 7) piercing damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) slashing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 26 (3d12 + 7) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away from the dragon turtle and knocked prone.
Steam Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon turtle exhales scalding steam in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw, taking 52 (15d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Being underwater doesn't grant resistance against this damage.

Posted Oct 20, 2021I'm planning on making a spellcasting version of this for a campaign I'm working on. It'll possibly force the party to 1) fight it, or 2) become its warlocks. At least, that's the plan.

Posted Apr 21, 2022They suggest Fog Cloud as a spellcasting option for it. But it doesn't have blindsight so it wouldn't be able to see through the fog. I guess it helps it not get targeted by spells but otherwise it seems like a pretty terrible option for it to use.

Posted Aug 25, 2022Ok, time to answer some questions with my Fizban's Treasury Of Dragons
1. You should use an Ancient Dragon Turtle for a stronger variant, having 409 health, AC 23, and a challenge rating of 24. Giving it 750 health would be more than Bahamut and Tiamat, literal gods.
2. You can use either a Young Dragon Turtle, or Dragon Turtle Wyrmling, the young has a average of 178 health, challenge rating of 10 with size huge, while wyrmling has a average of 90 health, challenge rating 4, and large size. You can choose what to put in a lake for a starting party :)
3. The Ancient Dragon Turtle as I said before has 3 legendary actions, legendary resistance (3/day), and 2 mythic actions (yes, it has Blessing of the Sea)
Fun fact, you can cast enlarge/reduce on a dragon turtle wyrmling so it becomes a size medium, and then since it is amphibious (breath water & air) you can take it around in a cart and move it ro somewhere, just thought this was cool

Posted Sep 12, 2022I have been thinking of having a Dragon Turtle in my game. Most adult dragons can lay 2 to 3 eggs a year. I however have not found any information on Dragon Turtles. If they are like a Sea Turtles they could lay 130 to 1,000 eggs every 1 to 9 years.
How many eggs do sea turtles lay at one time? In a single nesting season, females lay between two and six clutches of eggs, each containing 65 to 180 eggs. The clutches are laid approximately every two weeks, and the period between female nesting season ranges from one to nine years. Sea turtles also return to the place they were hatched to lay the next generation. This would make the hacking grounds a very valuable bit of information.
So how would you deal with Dragon Turtle eggs?

Posted Dec 2, 2022I think i want to make a humanoid species decended from dragon turtles. Might make a Dragonborn Tortle hybrid and then tweak it with data adapted from the Dragon Turtle statblock.
