Posted Jul 20, 2020I agree. Still useful to get into the position you want without opportunity attacks from other enemies, but once engaged it would cost you opportunity attacks to leave.

Posted Dec 17, 2020I assume the elemental understands you based on the connection you have with it through the spell. When concentration ends so does that connection therefore you would no longer have the ability to communicate with it, unless you speak Primordial: Terran, although it would still be aggressive towards you since you lost concentration.
At least that is how I would explain it running the game there might be other sources or GM's who have a different explanation.

Posted Aug 20, 2021Can a Wizard use his conjured Earth Elemental to help in the construction of his tower?
Mixed with some Stone Shape and Mending, seems like the easy way to go. This assumes you're not able to cast Move earth yet...

Posted Nov 11, 2021Swing, swing, swing with me
Raise your pick and raise your voice!
Sing, sing, sing with me
Down and down into the deep
Who knows what we'll find beneath?
Diamonds, rubies, gold and more
Hidden in the mountain store
Raised in the dark, the safety of our mountain home
Skin made of iron, steel in our bones
To dig and dig makes us free
Come on brothers sing with me!
Diggy, diggy hole, diggy, diggy hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, digging a hole
Deep, deep in the mine
Never seen the blue moon glow
Dwarves won't fly so high
Fill a glass and down some mead!
Stuff your bellies at the feast!
Stumble home and fall asleep
Dreaming in our mountain keep
The earth is our cradle; the mountain shall become our tomb
Face us on the battlefield; you will meet your doom
We do not fear what lies beneath
We can never dig too deep
Diggy, diggy hole, diggy, diggy hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, digging a hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, diggy, diggy hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, digging a hole
Raised in the dark, the safety of our mountain home
Skin made of iron, steel in our bones
To dig and dig makes us free
Come on brothers sing with me!
Diggy, diggy hole, diggy, diggy hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, digging a hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, diggy, diggy hole
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
Diggy, diggy hole, digging a hole...

Posted Mar 9, 2022The "Large" size only represents the size of the area that the creature threatens, it doesn't necessarily mean it's actual height.

Posted Mar 21, 2022The Conjure Elemental spell says, "The elemental is friendly to you and your companions for the duration. Roll initiative for the elemental, which has its own turns. It obeys any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to the elemental, it defends itself from hostile creatures but otherwise takes no actions."
So the spell would seem to give it the ability to understand your commands.
