Traits

Putrid Scent. Any creature that moves within 5ft of the Undead Centaur must succeed a DC 14 Con save or be poisoned for 1 minute, if the creature passes this save it is immune for 24hrs.

Violent Death. When the Undead Centaur's HP hits 0 any creature within 5ft of it must make a DC 14 Dex save or suffer 4d6 necrotic damage as the Centaur's guts explode violently.

Hooked. If the Undead Centaur has successfully hit a creature with its Hooking Sickle. attack it can drag them with its movement. This halves its movement and it cannot use its Charging Swings. attack. However it forcibly moves them with it and deals 1 piercing damage for each 5ft it covers.

Actions

Charging Swings. The Undead Centaur charges forward up to a quarter of its movement for free, but still takes attacks of opportunity with disadvantage against it. If it passes an enemy it can swing its blades at it, or if it ends its charge within another creature's space it may also attack the creature: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach of 5ft. Up to 2 targets (One may be attacked in passing) Hit: 8 (2d6+4) [Slashing] Damage.

Hooking Sickle. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. 1 target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 2) [Piercing] damage.

Reactions

Festering Kick. The Undead Centaur reactively kicks once per round against an attacker that is behind it, this has no bonus to hit and deals 2 [Bludgeoning] and 2 [Poison] damage.

Description

Wielding a large axe in one hand and a sickle in the other, these undead servants are unfortunate Centaurs caught by a raiser of the undead. Festering and stinking they can be well applied to witling down numbers of inexperienced groups and separating allies from each other. Their festering presence causing gagging and poisoning while they charge past enemies, picking the weak out and punishing their fear. If they are brought down, their explosive death can tear apart those who brought it low with necrotic energy.

To surmise their application, these creatures are perfect for undead lords to use as fodder cavalry, charging them into enemy lines. For even if they die before being able to battle properly, the distracting stench mixed with their explosive deaths will sow chaos, allowing for more heavily armed shock cavalry, or fast foot infantry, to capitalize on the opening these creatures create and bring low a well placed pike wall or other line that would normally shred most creatures a necromancer could summon against their enemies.
