Posted Jun 5, 2018One of my favorite enemies to use in campaigns. I play them as smart pack hunters who know when to flee and do not fight fair.

Posted Apr 17, 2019Kobold character traits are listed within the Volo's Guide to Monsters section on Monstrous Adventurers. They have +2 Dex and -2 Str so if you're going to choose a class for a kobold PC make sure they don't need to use Strength.

Posted Apr 19, 2019One of my favorite monsters, and my draconic-speaking brotherin. You can try to talk first, but that will probably not work due to their alignment. They are easy to pick off in one shot and could be useful as bait or a hostage. They have decently good reflexes (+2 dex.) but otherwise aren't very skillful. If you lure them into the sun, they have disadvantage on attack rolls. (I highly recommend doing so). If you are a DM they are a good choice to fight against low-level adventurers or civilians. They usually work in packs and have advantage if two of them are within 5 feet of a target with the creature not anticipating one of them.
-Advice from an advanced player :-D

Posted Aug 4, 2019you have to have Volo's Guide to Monsters to be able to make a playable Kobold character.
For the Organized play, look up D&D Adventurer's League and there "PHB + 1" rule.

Posted Oct 8, 2019Does it sound like the pronunciation feature on this page is saying: "Kobols"? The other Kobold listings (Kobold Inventor, Winged Kobold, etc.) sound proper.

Posted Oct 28, 2019I think it is a typical American pronunciation of the word. The s sound in the end is a little more pronounced than normal, but the "d" at the end of words is often swallowed and soft. The s is a result of the speaker smacking their tongue against their teeth, could be considered a mistake but doesn't sound unusual to me (native NYC speaker).

Posted Nov 12, 2019I made an encounter with Kobolds where my party was in a forest and they found this tribe of tabaxi that were at war with the Kobolds. The tabaxi had the information they needed for the quest and the tabaxi told them that the party had to help them win the war. They decided to raid the Kobolds base and the base was part of the mountain and they ran straight in and then the kobolds evacuated out the back, barred the back door and the front, and blocked of all the air holes so the party suffocated to death in the cave.

Posted Jan 18, 2020Haha, after your comment, I've named one kobold as Skiip. He killed one of my characters in the arena then. And of course, he screamed "My name is Ssskiiiiipppp!" after that flawless victory )
