Posted Jul 23, 2023You know there always been one things I have wondered when looking at this state block....
Why don't Ogres...Speak Ogre! It a language option for PC's and yet, ogres don't even speak it! At least according to this statblock

Posted Nov 10, 2023That's sort of the niche verbeeg are meant to fill. They share an ogre's half-giant ancestry, so, although they're clever tacticians, they often play dumb to inspire false confidence in adventurers who may think they're just dealing with a skinnier ogre

Posted Nov 13, 2023There’s a story about a ogre that tricks his enemies in Warhammer 40k. He lets himself be captured and locked away, then at the right moment smashes out of the cage, throws himself down the stairs (crushing people on the way) and opens the gates for his tribe to arrive. These are different to DND ones obviously but in 40K they’re chased by an “Everwinter”, so they bring a frost storm with them and they’re cursed with eternal hunger. Somehow this one managed to feel starving long enough to pull of the trap.

Posted Jan 10, 2025Literally had a player take one down alone at level 1. It was hecking NUTS. He was a half orc monk and he was know for the most absurd crits ever. Seriously his dice luck was freaking unreal. But I saw him roll them both digitally and with different dice.
So he fights this ogre alone, the rest of the players busy, crits him 2 or 3 times the ogre only hits him once and gets unlucky with the damage and BAMM falls, still stands as the unquestioned how the hell did that just happen in the campaign.
But yes, usually ogres are very dangerous.
This particular player has a lot of these moments but it never seizes to amaze me. He also saved the party from 2 tpks with a crit and a 19 respectively so yeah. Madlad.
