Posted Dec 28, 2018Would it be possible to play one of these in a campaign? IDKY but it sounds like it could be fun to play as one of these little guys. I just don't know where to start in making it possible. Something It probably should be awoken though, trying to translate basic feelings into a full campaign is such a pain.

Posted Jan 16, 2019I have one as my beast companion and I love it. I do not really use him for combat at all but scouting and problem solving makes having one around really fun.

Posted May 10, 2019This needs to have its variant rule green text added in to its entry. I didn't even know it existed until someone pointed it out in the physical MM and sure enough, there is variance between the physical MM and this entry.

Posted Aug 22, 2019The familiar text is available on DnD Beyond if you go directly to the monster manual source entry. It can be found here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/mm/monsters-p#Pseudodragon

Posted Oct 1, 2019nope the Pact of the Chain creature, like the regular find familiar one, is a spirit that assumes the form of such a creature rather than the actual creature itself. The benifits you get from the Pact of the Chain are as follows.
And other features granted by invocations you might choose to pick up

Posted Oct 1, 2019I wish they had the camouflage feature of the original AD&D version - as a DM I would give them this power... advantage on stealth checks perhaps.

Posted Oct 23, 2019It can’t be awoken, it’s too smart and it not a Beast... it could travel with the party because the party are friends with it...
Quick question, does the Pseudodragons’ venom carry over into the Chain version? I have a build in mind and, if this was the case, it’d be even stronger!

Posted Jan 20, 2020I believe the intentions of the variant familiars are meant to work with Pact of the Chain and with the Find Familiar spell as well. I would personally allow it.
