Considering a real rat's speed and agility I think the DEX mod should defo be higher and there should be a proficiency bonus for stealth advantage since that's literally how they survive...I hope they change it...
What happened to the days where tiny things hid well? When they were harder to hit because they were small targets?
I don't miss the days a feral housecat could kill a wizard, but there has to be some kind of middle ground. Nocturnal creatures not getting dark vision because low light isn't a thing, so at best they just remove disadvantage.
Rats are creatures that have survived for how many tens of thousands of years through cunning, they're ability to hide, and ability to consume almost anything. They're durable, smart, and hard to get ahold of. Dex mod 0, no bonus to stealth, but they can smell things.

I have a pet rat that I want to turn into a god. How do I make it stronger?
I didn't believe it when I was told it was a +0
I want to play a character similar to the pied piper I need a build optimized for stealth charisma and also has some healing potential if anyone has any ideas please tell me

Rat
"I'd like to insight check the rat"
it is, indeed a rat.
also did you know it would take 6 rat bites to kill a 1st level wizard. Have 6 rats surround your (least) favorite wizard(s) from a wall, surprise means the wizard will be dead in one round. Next round have 3 rats bite the wizard to instantly make them fail their death save. You are welcome.
