Rejuvenation. If it dies, the naga returns to life in 1d6 days and regains all its hit points. Only a wish spell can prevent this trait from functioning.
Spellcasting. The naga is a 10th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks), and it needs only verbal components to cast its spells. It has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): mage hand, minor illusion, ray of frost
1st level (4 slots): charm person, detect magic, sleep
2nd level (3 slots): detect thoughts, hold person
3rd level (3 slots): lightning bolt, water breathing
4th level (3 slots): blight, dimension door
5th level (2 slots): dominate person
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 31 (7d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
This would be good for a hunter-hunted scenario
An evil, spiritual, immortal wizard, but snake.
A simple concept. It works.

Pog Snake
I like to imagine it somewhat like Koh, the Facestealer Spirit from Avatar the Last Airbender.
Worked great in my campaign :)
An intelligence of 16 for an immortal guardian of arcane power is such a joke.
Perhaps this would be something that scares Yuan ti into believing in their gods wrath, and instead of fake worship for power, this would make it a worship of fear
Spirit Naga controlling a Yuan-ti settlement, that has potential
*me reacting to someone having actually seen the show*
WHY EE ESS.
I loved that module as a teen; re-skinning it now for some noobs in the 5e environment.

save for later
The seriously evil dms could possibly trap their players in a small, indestructible box with this monster for all eternity. >=)
*me confused that others watched Avatar and hopefully loved it*
Like a beeg worm...
*me excited that we all watched it and were traumatized by the demon panda*
another matt mercer voice!
I did a temple ( that the naga builds ) and controls/charms/geas/intimidates yuan-ti to help in killing adventurers and worshiping it. If the PC's wipe and kill the naga, it comes back eventually. I set this not too far from the the ruins of Molaesmyr in the savallir wood ( exandria ). The idea was in fact from an old ( late first edition ) one shot module ported up to 5e. Charms were better then, but having a charmed downtrodden adventurer NPC ( rusted armor, ect ) selling temple treasure maps in Shadycreek Run for 10gp ( they negotiated her down to 2gp ) is how the naga wants it to work. Since it's ar eal temple ( and real things in it ) the insight/deception game is moot. It's real ... a real trap. There are all sorts of things even in the south part of those woods.
I guess it's hard to read books when you don't have thumbs.
