Magic Resistance. The vrock has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. The vrock makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its talons.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) slashing damage.
Spores (Recharge 6). A 15Â-footÂ-radius cloud of toxic spores extends out from the vrock. The spores spread around corners. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned. While poisoned in this way, a target takes 5 (1d10) poison damage at the start of each of its turns. A target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Emptying a vial of holy water on the target also ends the effect on it.
Stunning Screech (1/Day). The vrock emits a horrific screech. Each creature within 20 feet of it that can hear it and that isn't a demon must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of the vrock's next turn.
So sad that the vrocks can't dance in a circle in 5e... :(
I'd prefer not to die to 20d6 damage thanks!
But yeah would be cool if toned down to 5e levels.
How is this so challenging? Its a vrock! that's a virtual-Rock right?
Bro the comments section on monsters (especially for demons) is off limits except for dungeon masters
"It's time to Vrock!" -Fjord
I believe the quote is, "Are you ready to VROCK?!"
Not when fjord says it
it's 2d6 not 20d6 damage.
As someone who has only played 5e... What?
20d6 - Vrock successfully grapples you, flies straight up 200 feet then drops you for 20d6 falling damage.
The 20d6 is in reference to the vrock's Dance of Ruin ability in 3.x, has nothing to do with grappling, flying up, and dropping someone.
Correct.
But I’m both
In older editions of dnd, Vrocks used to do this thing where, as an action, they could dance around together and when done, everything within a 100+ feet raduis must succeed a saving through or get blasted with electricity.
It’s “It’s time... to VROCK!”
Question (possibly very basic) from someone just starting DMing here, about Multiattack alongside other abilities.
Am I right in thinking that unless specifically stated, a creature still only has 1 Action? So in the case of the Vrock, it can use multiattack, or the Stunning Screech, but not screech and then attack someone?
This is correct. Same as with PCs who have the extra attack feature. One action, one bonus action, one interact with object (eg. drawing/stowing a weapon, opening a door, etc).
I used their dance of ruin ability and overkilled our wizard
