Shapechanger. The werebear can use its action to polymorph into a Large bear-humanoid hybrid or into a Large bear, or back into its true form, which is humanoid. Its statistics, other than its size and AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Keen Smell. The werebear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Multiattack. In bear form, the werebear makes two claw attacks. In humanoid form, it makes two greataxe attacks. In hybrid form, it can attack like a bear or a humanoid.
Bite (Bear or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage. If the target is a humanoid, it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be cursed with werebear lycanthropy.
Claw (Bear or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) slashing damage.
Greataxe (Humanoid or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d12 + 4) slashing damage.
used oil to set on fire as wiz hit it with lighting
If an aarakocra were to be cursed with lycanthropy of any kind what would happen to their wings? Do the wings adapt to the new form or does the new form conceal the wings completely?
Rime of the frostmaiden would like to talk to you
Oh my god imagining an evil campaign where one of the characters occasionally turns into a bear and does good, and the whole party has to try to stop them
Totum warrior. Way of the bear. I made a character/wearbear and had the DM set up my stats for my bear form
I wish some of my friends were like your tabaxi party member who wasn't weirded out by those kinds of things. I want to have a friend who isn't gonna act like I'm the only one who enjoys those kinds of character creations. I love druids, changelings, were-creatures, and anything to do with magic or animals. They think I'm a furry, but oof, I want a friend irl and in-game like your tabaxi friend.
Be creative
They would get absorbed into the new form if they went full animal form, hybrid in theory their still their. Same goes for a warforge, in between would look like a weird cyborg man bear, full would just look like a bear
Thank you! This was super helpful :)
So a non-transformed werebear is a medium sized creature, and in its hybrid form or full beast form is a LARGE creature:
So why on earth is the mini for this creature, based on the image shown here, a medium creature?
How much does a werebear weight?
My character obtained the curse today -_- I want to both accept it, for fun, and refuse it so I'm not dealing with 2 things all the time. WHY MUST THIS BE A CHOICE.
As my dm described it, on full moons (ANY full moon, blood, blue, eclipse, etc.) Chaotic-aligned and evil-aligned become uncontrollable in their were form, making for some interesting happenings if any of the players are were-beasts. I and one other player have been given the curse of Lycanthropy, specifically for werebear, and have a blood moon coming up in the campaign, so this is gonna be interesting. Happy adventuring all!!
THIS is a great capture of lycanthropy for players! The chaotic aligned struggle with control, letting out their "rage" or their "inner beast". Good luck with your insatiable hunger for savagery, you absolute FREAK! ♥
I decided to make a gnome wizard werebear for the sole purpose of being able to transform into the littlest most unthreatening bear cub imaginable, but forgot I was joining a campaign in Barovia xD xD I'm panic searching for a potion or something in game rn. I casually asked an NPC when the full moon was and he was like "every night" so instead of a gradual reveal of a secret I just ran into my parties room and was like "I'M A WEREBEAR, my husband was a werebear and turned me as part of our wedding vows, I don't want to be cured, bye going to look for a potion"
My character just got cursed with this last night, just managed to dodge the Werewolf one and then this MF just cuasualy bites me and my save was total garbage.
Not gonna lie I'm quite excited by this but I'm sure my character would greatly suffer this curse. Looking forward to play this out.
interesting
Wrong in many ways.
A big part of the curse is change in alignment. If it didn't change who you are everyone would want lycanthropy. It creates a roleplay opportunity and an interesting dilemma for the player.
Natural born lycanthropes can't be cured with remove curse.
I created a magic item to apply the effects of being a werebear in my campaign. I called it a "Band of Ursinthropy", as a joke, because he is Ursine not in anyway Lycan.
But I just added a strength adjustment to it, and while my DM only allowed resistance to piercing/slashing/etc.. I was able to add those too.
