Shapechanger. The werebear can use its action to polymorph into a Large bear-humanoid hybrid or into a Large bear, or back into its true form, which is humanoid. Its statistics, other than its size and AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Keen Smell. The werebear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Multiattack. In bear form, the werebear makes two claw attacks. In humanoid form, it makes two greataxe attacks. In hybrid form, it can attack like a bear or a humanoid.
Bite (Bear or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage. If the target is a humanoid, it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be cursed with werebear lycanthropy.
Claw (Bear or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) slashing damage.
Greataxe (Humanoid or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d12 + 4) slashing damage.
Can you be a say, a werebear and a weretiger?
Gotta love them tabaxi bards
Is there any way to control yourself while in hybrid or full creature form? I always thought I could control myself during hybrid transformations
make a custom character. Call it like "The BearFolk". I also am making one called WereBear Infected.
My DM allows me to use monk skills like ki points and running on walls or water while in hybrid form. He wasn’t going to allow it but my brother made a Kung foo panda joke so DM said Yes.
Pretty sure there’s a item that curses you with lycanthropy but I only use character sheets so I don’t really know
Hear me out...
I'm going to make a homebrew race for a Werebear, since being a Werebear doesn't seem to be as much of curse as being afflicted with other forms of lycanthropy (Werebears often control their curse and use it to protect others and the environment). I don't know how to replicate a lycanthropes resistance to nonmagical weapon attacks not made with silvered weapons without upsetting game balance (that would be too OP for a racial trait). Maybe make the resistance to nonmagical physical damage a limited use ability like barbarian rage, and add a passive resistance that's more akin to the Heavy Armor Master feat (scalable with character level). But it's not nessasary. The main features you'll get is a hybrid form with a bonus to AC, being able to turn into a bear (that could help you avoid detection in forest environments), Keen Smell, and extra movement speed in bear and hybrid form. Also, I'm giving it a +2 bonus to two different ability scores like the Mountain Dwarf.
