Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d10 + 2) piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) cold damage.
Cold Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales an icy blast of hail in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking 22 (5d8) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
In this same encounter in my game I added Common to her languages. It is tough for characters to reason with Calcryx if they can't communicate.
Not a bad idea if no one in the party can speak Draconic or cast Tongues or something. Don't forget she has an INT of 5 though, which is lower than a gorilla. Her ability to communicate with language would be extremely primitive.
I almost got TPKed in that battle! This is not designed for 1st level characters, unless you really want a hard fight. Knocked out all but one character.
Camouflage most likely. In their typical arctic environments, a white dragon would probably blend in from a distance.
Seconding this. A first-level character isn’t likely to have more than 12 HP; a single failed saving throw against this breath weapon is instant death.
HOW MUCH INTELLAGENCE DOS´E A DRAGON HAVE ?!?!?!
depends on age and type, but for a white wyrmling (baby) dragon, the intelligence is listed above as "5" five, so the modifier would be "-3" negative three on intelligence rolls
Fun Dimble "Doubledock" Daergel fact: Dimble REALLY wants a White Dragon Wyrmling for a pet, he'd settle for literally any animal, he just wants pets
White Dragon Wyrmling's. At their CR and pure "toe to toe" combat ability, its an initiative roulette.
If the dragon acts 1st, its pumping out 9 avg damage (4-16) on a successful melee strike or 11 avg (5-40, /2) with its breath weapon IF THE SAVE IS MADE! (that likely out ranges the majority of martial PC's most potent attacks).
IMHO... "Wrymlings" should see a CR bump or have the breath weapon nerfed to the "survivable" range if saved against by a typical marital class (for your avg fighter in a CR matching party of, lets say 4).
Maybe I'm missing something?
Sweet. we got her and still kept Meepo. Thing is, he's so scared, take if a enemy isn't in range, our DM has to say, "um... Meepo shivers in the corner.. welp, it's your turn now."
So what do I do if I found the egg of one of these and it hatches in 6 in-game days my character is a Dragonborn and the dm said it would bond with me when it hatches because of that. My main question is how long it would take for it to grow up.
The last session ended with the party unlocking Calcryx's door. They're 1st level, lol.
Oh yeah! I’m preparing to the run that oneshot too, and I’m actually trying to find out if they would tame it if they want. Like is there a dc for animal handling? Idk
you shoud take bludgeoning from the hail. it says that thers hail.
''They are vicious, cruel reptiles driven by hunger and greed.'' Yea that's just 90% of icewings.
what is the best way to have a character have a wormling as pet
Bruh, I put that in frozen sick... You should of seen them
The Guard stat block has a CR of 1/8, and this thing has a CR of 2. It would take 16 town guards to take on the weakest dragon's newborn child.
5 years to young dragon. Look up dragons in the monster manual.
You get the same dc for animal handing for wisdom.
