Posted Dec 28, 2023The 7 here is an average of 2d4+2, you can just use that instead of rolling the damage.

Posted Feb 22, 2024Wolves have an excellent sense of smell and hearing, so they get Keen Hearing and Smell. So, in total darkness, a wolf would have advantage on perception checks to find the players using their sense of smell. Cats would probably get darkvision because they have keen night vision.

Posted May 31, 2024As an experienced dnd player, gotta say... These have been more of an iconic enemy for the earlygame than goblins in my games lol. Ive gad maybe 2 campaigns where we haven't fought wolves or dire wolves. Usually both

Posted Jun 2, 2024Oh, we own what we own, we own the night
The only thing that is worse than our bark's our bite
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night
The moonlight's on the rooftops, the wind is at our backs (backs)
We're living in the shadows, we're living for the chase (chase)
Our legacy is in our sights, so let's pick up the pace
We're on a quest to find the power that's inside of us (us)
She's the Alpha, she's the leader, she's the one to trust (trust)
Together we do whatever it takes, we're in this pack for life (awoo)
We're wolves, we own the night
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night
The only thing that is worse than our bark's our bite
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night
The night is our home
We own what we own (wolves, awoo)
We own the night
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night
The only thing that is worse than our bark's our bite
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night

Posted Jul 11, 2024Wolves can see very well at night due to their tapetum lucidum, the same thing cats have. No reason for them to not have darkvision.

Posted Jul 20, 2024Just compared Wolf and Hyena stat blocks. It looks like 5e has fallen into the nobility trap. Hyenas should be better just on bite force alone (1000lbs vs 406lbs), but with thick stronger necks their AC should be higher too
