Adhesive (Object Form Only). The tome adheres to anything that touches it. A Large or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 12). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.
False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the tome remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object.
Grappler. The tome has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the tome is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) acid damage.
Plant Egg. The tome initiates a Strength or Dexterity (player's choice) contest on a grappled target within 5 ft. If it wins the contest, the target has a fist sized egg implanted in their body. The target must then make a Constitution (DC 14) saving throw or be knocked prone. Upon failure, the target must make a Constitution (DC 14) saving throw or be incapacitated. If the target is incapacitated it takes 3d10 necrotic damage per turn until either the target dies or the egg is removed via a wish, or greater restoration spell. If the target dies while the egg is inside them an Intellect Devourer will burst from the target and occupy it's space.
