Grown into the Foundations. The Vorebeast exists in and around the foundations of the building that it has grown into. Its movement is 0, but extensions of its body fill the entire underground space. There is one primary mouth that is 20-25% as wide  as its entire body and can open to half again as tall, and between 5 and 10 auxiliary mouths that spawn around the space. Roll 1d6+4 to determine how many mouths spawn.

Sacrifice flesh: Attacks made against the vorebeast's outer extensions do less damage than they would at the core, decreasing by half every 30 feet (ie. 1/2 damage at 30 feet, 1/4 damage at 60 feet, etc).

Divide the Vorebeasts hitpoints by the number of mouths spawned + 1. Every time the monster gains or loses this amount of health, increase or decrease the number of mouths by one.

(eg. The beast has 420 hp and 7 mouths spawned. 420/(7+1) = 52.5, so for every 53 hp of damage dealt, remove one mouth from the map, excepting the primary maw)

Corrorsive Flesh  Any creature that hits it with a melee attack takes 5 (1d10) acid damage.

Actions

Multiattack. The vorebeast makes two tongue attacks.

Tongue (primary mouth) Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

Tongue (auxiliary mouths) Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (2d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

Corrosive Saliva. The vorebeast's tongue attack deals an extra 9 (2d8) acid damage.

Exhale (primary mouth) (Recharge 5–6). The Vorebeast expels poisonous breath in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 45 (7d12) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The breath also contains flamable gasses, and if there is a fire present when the breath is used, deal an additional 2d6+5(2d6) fire damage (1/2 on a successful save).

Inhale (primary mouth) (Recharge 5–6). The horror breathes in, drawing creatures towards its terrible maw Each creature within 30 feet of the horror's primary mouth must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw, taking 33 (3d6)bludgeoning damage and becoming knocked prone and pulled 10 feet closer  on a failed save, or taking half as much damage and remaining in place on a successful one.

Consume (primary) Melee Weapon Attack: +10 it bites down on each creature within the space of its primary mouth, dealing (4d12)+7 peircing damage to each creature inside. The Vorebeast regains a number of hitpoints equal to 1/2 the damage dealt

Consume (tertiaray) Melee Weapon Attack: +8 it bites down on each creature within the space of its primary mouth, dealing (3d8)+7 peircing damage to each creature inside. The Vorebeast regains a number of hitpoints equal to 1/2 the damage dealt

Legendary Actions

The Vorebeast has 3 Legendary Actions. These actions must take place between other player's turns

Tongue Attack: Using one of its auxiliary mouths it can lash out at a creature within 5 feet of the mouth

Consume:  The beast makes a bite attack with an auxiliary mouth.

Relocate (2 actions):  The Vorebeast can move up to three of its secondary mouths somewhere else within the lair within 60 feet of the primary mouth.

Description

Hatched from a Vorebeast egg, the creature will slowly grow, extending its body into the area around it, replacing wood, stone, clay, and other building components with its own flesh and bone.  If it continues to be fed, it will continue to grow, and it is unknown if the Vorebeast has an actual maximum size, as in its natural habitat, it will generally be unable to sustain its own growth through its own ability to catch prey when it reaches a size of 10-15 feet.

A Vorebeast will eat anything it can catch or anything that might fall into it, but they are primarily carnivorous in nature. In the wild, they will often form growths in cliff faces or form natural pit traps in stone. When attached to human structures, they will most often form their amorphous body into and around the supports of the buildings themselves. The content of their excretions depends primarily on their diets, where the higher the percentage of protien and organic (ie carbon based) life, the more they will exude in terms of flammable gasses and liquids

Lair and Lair Actions

The lair of the Vorebeast is also its body. When entering the lair, at first it seems as though the environment has just begun to become warm and damp. As you descend deeper into the lair, it seems as though the ground beneath you starts to seem soft, almost springy as if the wood has begun to rot, or the stone to crumble. If you begin to investigate the walls or floors in this area, you will find that they are just a thin veneer of material over soft, pulsing pink flesh, thickly veined with viscous blood.

Deeper in, the veneer of wood, metal, plaster, and stone that would normally make up this building begins to fall away, peeling away in long strips like wallpaper. Once straight corridors become warped and twisted, the floor tilted at odd angles. Tendrils of flesh slither out of sight at the last moment. You can hear the thunder and gurgles of the blood pumping and the digestive juices gurgling. The floor is now spongey and wet, and your footsteps make a horrible sucking and splashing sound as you proceed. You feel the ground underneath you ripple, a peristaltic contraction designed to urge you deeper in

When you reach the heart of the lair you find a cavern lined almost completely with pink and grey flesh, and scraps of bone. The stench becomes unbearable; Sweet rot, fetid sulfur, the decay of things left in a swamp for far too long. the horrible, 5 foot gashes of auxillary mouths open and close from the flesh at will, tongues lashing out blindly. But worst of all, in the center is the great maw itself, red tongue lolling out, sweeping across the deformed fleshy floor for scraps, always hungry, always seeking.
