Shapechanger. As an action, Yaneria can change their appearance and their voice. They determine the specifics of the changes, including coloration, hair length, sex, height and weight. Yaneria can make themselves appear as a member of another race, though none of their game statistics change. Yaneria can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature they’ve never seen, and they must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs that they have. Yaneria's clothing and equipment aren’t changed by this trait.
Swift Assassin. During their first turn, Yaneria has advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn. Any hit Yaneria scores against a surprised creature is a critical hit.
Sneak Attack. Once per turn, Yaneria deals an extra 28 (8d6) damage when they hit a target with a weapon attack and has advantage on the attack roll, or when the target is within 5 feet of an ally of Yaneria's that isn't incapacitated and Yaneria doesn't have disadvantage on the attack roll.
Evasion. When Yaneria is subjected to an effect that allows them to make a DEX saving throw to take only half damage, they instead take no damage if they succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if they fail.
Unerring Eye (2/day). As an action, Yaneria can sense the presence of illusions, shapechangers not in their original form, and other magic designed to deceive their senses within 30 ft. of them, if they aren’t blinded or deafened.
Blindsense. If Yaneria is able to hear, they are aware of the location of any hidden or invisible creature within 10 ft. of them.
Rapier+2. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d8 + 7) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, becoming paralyzed on a failed save. The target gets a further saving throw each turn to throw-off the paralysis. The paralysis ends after 2 turns.
Hand Crossbow +2. Ranged Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d6 + 7) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, becoming paralyzed on a failed save. The target gets a further saving throw each turn to throw-off the paralysis. The paralysis ends after 2 turns.
Off-hand Dagger+1. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, becoming paralyzed on a failed save. The target gets a further saving throw each turn to throw-off the paralysis. The paralysis ends after 2 turns.
Cunning Action. Yaneria's quick thinking and agility allows them to move and act quickly. They can take a bonus action on each of their turns in combat. This action can be used only to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide actions.
Insightful Fighting. As a bonus action, Yaneria can make an Insight check against a creature they can see that isn’t incapacitated, contested by the target’s Deception check. If they succeeds, they can use their Sneak Attack against that target even if they don’t have advantage on the attack roll, but not if they have disadvantage on it, for 1 minute or until they use this feature against a different target.
Swift Assassin. Yaneria is difficult to pin down during a fight. They can move up to half their speed as a reaction when an enemy ends its turn within 5 feet of them. This movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks.
Uncanny Dodge. When an attacker that Yaneria can see hits them with an attack, they can use their reaction to halve the attack’s damage against them.
Description
Yaneria Silvertongue has a reputation amongst the Ghosts of Mirabar of being the greatest disguise artist in the world. Only Gedryn of Mirabar, the leader of the Ghosts, is aware that Yaneria’s ability to change their appearance is due to their shape-changing gifts.
Gedryn found Yaneria as a baby while he was investigating a threat to Mirabar. Their parents had been slain by his target. Feeling a small amount of guilt, Gedryn had taken Yaneria back to Mirabar and had them raised in secret. The discovery of Yaneria’s ability to shape-change ensured that Gedryn recruited them into the Ghosts.
Yaneria serves as a far-ranging spy for the Ghosts, traveling the world and seeking out dangers to Mirabar. Their persuasive nature helps to ensure the success of their missions.
When forced to make appearances in Mirabar, Yaneria normally assumes the form of an alabaster-skinned female in their late twenties.
