Ice Walk. Zapanyr can move across and climb icy surfaces without needing to make an ability check.

Mistress of Bears. Zapanyr can force Werebears within 90ft to reveal themselves and gains control of them. The target must make a DC18 Wisdom saving throw or be forced to shift into either Hybrid or Bear form. If the target shifts, it must then make a DC18 Charisma saving throw or be controlled by Zapanyr. The target can repeat the charisma saving throw at the end of each of it's turns. Once a target succeeds on a saving throw it is immune to this effect for 24 hours.

Legendary Resistance (4/Day). If Zapanyr fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.

Magic Resistance. Zapanyr has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Spellcasting. Zapanyr can cast each of the following spells, using a DC of 22.

Dracolich Phylactery. If Zapanyr drops to 0 hit points, her soul is immediately returned to her phylactery. She needs to rest for a full 8 hours while recovering in this form. After that time period, once she is within 20ft of her vessel, she is reanimated at full hit point value. Once the phylactery is destroyed, Zapanyr cannot return to it. If the phylactery is destroyed while the soul is inside, the soul is immediately destroyed as well.

 

Actions

Multiattack. The dracolich can use its Paralyzing Gaze. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws. It can swap out it's claw attacks to make a tail attack instead.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) cold damage and 9 (2d8) necrotic damage .

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage and 5 (1d8) cold damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) bludgeoning damage and 9 (2d8) cold damage.

Cold Breath (Recharge 5–6). Zapanyr exhales an icy blast in a 90-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, taking 72 (16d8) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Paralyzing Gaze (Recharge 5–6). Zapanyr's glowing eyes can paralyze victims within 40 feet who fail a DC 22 Constitution saving throw. If the saving throw is successful, the character is forever immue to the gaze. If it fails, the victim is paralyzed for 2d4 rounds.

Legendary Actions

Zapanyr can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Zapanyr regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. Zapanyr makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Tail Attack. Zapanyr makes a tail attack.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). Zapanyr beats her tattered wings. Each creature within 10 feet of her must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 15 (2d6 + 8) bludgeoning damage and 9 (2d8) cold damage. The creature is then knocked prone. After beating its wings this way, Zapanyr can fly up to half its flying speed.

Cast Spell (Costs 3 Actions). The dracolich can cast one of the spells available to it.

Description

Zapanyr was an Ancient White Dragon who terrorised the Northern regions of Enoeth, and was caught in Nialin when it was ripped from time and space.

Alongside her mate, Dirventh, the Dragons laid waste to Shiverspire and began to roam south. First to attempt to stop them was a lost tribe of Werebears.

The werebears dealt a great deal of damage to Zapanyr until she stepped forth and exerted her influence over the Werebears. The wild magic of Nialin combined with the primordial energy of the Dragon and she became able to control Werebears whilst in their shifted form. She can also force Werebears to shift into hybrid or full forms.

 Hearing of the devestation wrought by the Draconic pair, help was sought from the Crystalline Circle in Idril.

The Prime Arcanum, Ithuriel, took three of his best students - Arath, Deimos and Faemyra. They destroyed Dirventh at the Yksalion Stronghold and made sure his body was buried deep beneath the keep. Deimos fell in the battle.

 Pressing onwards, north, to the Shivering Spine Mountains, the three remaining wizards fought through Mutated Kobold armies (white) and various Werebears. In the final fight, Faemyra sacrificed herself to destroy the Dragon in both physical and metaphysical form.

Zapanyr, however, had previously studied the ways of Lichdom, having corrupted a cult of Necromancers, whom became a Draconic Cult.

Centuries later, Dirventh's body was found and the Cult of the White brought Zapanyrs phylactery to the remains, ressurecting Zapanyr into her colossal Dracolich state.
