Description
The Abyss Crawlers are a Spider Silk species originating from the Abyss. Their huge hairy, three-jointed legs create a feeling of discomfort in even the most seasoned adventurers. The hairs on their thick bodies almost look like strands of shadow. Each of their eyes glows with an eerie green when looking straight into the eyes of another creature. Unlike their Demon siblings, they tend to be more towards the neutral evil alignment.
Instead of hunting for prey, they tend to make deals with mortal creatures. A humanoid may come to seek the spider's aid and obtain the highly valued Spider Silk to create a light armor from it. The Abyss Crawlers value emotional pain above all else and will opt for something reasonable. They tend to take away beauty, memories or precious family heirlooms over all else. Encountering an Abyss Crawler shouldn't be considered lightly as they are not mindless beasts. They will not consider an encounter without making sure they can make it out alive.
The Abyss Crawler tend to live on its own, or in small packs no larger than 8. They reproduce asexually through eggs they lay in dead creatures, often humanoid. If a creature has fallen in combat they usually spin it in tight web so that they can use the breathing body for fresh food.
