Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage.
Spellcasting. The bard casts one of the following spells, using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 14):
Cantrips (at will): mage hand, thaumaturgy, vicious mockery
1st level (4 slots): bane, cure wounds, dissonant whispers, heroism
2nd level (2 slots): invisibility, shatter
Bardic Inspiration (4/Long Rest). As a bonus action, a creature (other than yourself) within 60 ft. that can hear you gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.
An inspired creature can instead roll that die and add the number rolled to a weapon damage roll it just made. Alternatively, when an attack roll is made against the creature, it can use its reaction to roll the Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to its AC against that attack, after seeing the roll but before knowing whether it hits or misses.
Hellish Rebuke (1/Long Rest). You can cast hellish rebuke at 2nd-level (3d10) as a reaction which you take in response to being damaged by a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see
Description
You call yourself Zaz. You grew up on the South Sword Coast. Your real name is Ramenos Zarrazir. Officially you are a performer by trade, though most of your wealth derives from con artistry & thievery. You are old friends with Elvaris Elmwing, you call her "L". You both lived in the same town (Zazesspur) for 2 years and became somewhat close. You showed her to her first underground fighting rings and used to cheer her on and help her train, and she would defend you if ever you stole from the wrong person and got in trouble.
At some point L made the decision to move on and work up and down the Sword Coast as hired security for travel caravans. Over those 10 years you would run into each other every couple years. You weren't "following" her per se, but you did take jobs that were moderately close to where she was. Just in case.
About a year back, as you were resting from a freshly completed job, a mysterious woman wearing purple robes approached you and offered you a contract: accumulate as many riches as you could get your hands on. deliver them to a location marked on a map one year from then, and you can keep 25% of the findings. You accepted the contract, though you secretly decided to pocket 50% anyway.
Months go by, business is good. A few months ago, you ran into L in the town of Crimmor and had a drink with her. She told you that business was good for her too, and that night, you found out just how good it was. You saw an opportunity, you snuck into her room, and stole the 10 years worth of wages from her. She has probably been chasing you since, and almost certainly wants to kill you at the moment.
A few days ago, you delivered the riches (minus your take) to the location marked on the map, a raiders' camp a few miles south of a small village called Greenest. This is where you met the mysterious woman in purple, delivered the riches, and settled down after months of travel. As you rested, you noticed many heavy-looking crates being carried into a nearby cave. Being a curious fellow, you snuck into the cave and snooped around.
Unfortunately you saw something you shouldn't have: a clutch of 3 huge eggs in a large chamber of the cave. You were apprehended and imprisoned, and a day later tortured to ask who you were working for. Though you have no idea what information they are trying to get out of you, you are afraid these may be your last hours alive...
