Description
The Scalded Deserts are host to more than Louse and Devil Raptors and the Karakatoa. In the rocky mountains of Rhymorra, one may also be able to find the Al'asaan or Wrecking Claw Scorpion.
The large flail-like appendage on the end of the beast's tail is its primary means of acquiring food. The Scorpion does not eat meat or plant matter, instead using its tail to break large boulders into gravel, which it consumes and reprocesses into the magical stone that forms its carapace.
The creatures are naturally shy, wanting to hide away beneath a rock if a group of merchants or adventurers wander by. However, they are willing to risk a fight if the group is carrying any noticeable gemstones. Those being the Scorpion's favorite food.
If you can capture one of the beast's eggs and raise it from a hatchling, they are known to be very calm and loyal beasts. However, the eggs are indistinguishable from rocks and thus difficult to find.
