Traits

Magic Resistance. The slaad has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Regeneration. The slaad regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point.

Camouflage. The slaad has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

Actions

Multiattack. The slaad makes two claw attacks.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (5d6 + 5) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15) if it is a Large or smaller creature. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the slaad can’t use its bite attack or tongue attack on another target.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage. If the target is a humanoid, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be infected with a disease called chaos phage. While infected, the target can’t regain hit points, and its hit point maximum is reduced by 10 (3d6) every 24 hours. If the disease reduces the target’s hit point maximum to 0, the target instantly transforms into a red slaad or, if it has the ability to cast spells of 3rd level or higher, a green slaad. Only a wish spell can reverse the transformation.

Tongue. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 30 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (3d6) necrotic damage, and the target must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the target is pulled to a space within 5 feet of the slaad, which can use a bonus action to make a bite attack against the target.

Swallow. The slaad makes a bite attack against a Medium or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the creature is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the slaad, and it takes 10 (3d6) necrotic damage at the start of each of the slaad’s turns. A creature reduced to 0 hit points in this way stops taking the necrotic damage and becomes stable.

The slaad can have only one creature swallowed at a time. While the slaad isn’t incapacitated, it can regurgitate the creature at any time (no action required) in a space within 5 feet of it. The creature exits prone. If the slaad dies, it likewise regurgitates a swallowed creature.

Description

Blue slaadi will transform into a yellow slaad only after devouring a green, gray, or death slaad. Having consumed vast amounts of magic and no way to expel it, yellow slaadi bloat and becomes gluttonous. They have chameleon-like camouflage, gained from their consumption of magic, enormous mouths, and a tongue that is roughly 30-feet long that allow them to snatch up their prey from a distance and swallow it whole - this is further supplemented by their natural ability to climb any surface and unnatural stealth.
