Veteran's Value. As a veteran of the Long Patrol, this creature is afforded certain benefits. The veteran's weapon attacks count as magical and it is immune to the Frightened condition.
Dive Attack. If the Aarakocra is flying and dives at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a melee weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 7 (3d6) damage to the target.
Flyby. The Aarakocra doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.
Spellcasting. The Aarakocra is a 7th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). The Aarakocra has the following spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): Druidcraft, Gust
1st level (3 slots): Ensnaring Strike, Faerie Fire, Hunter's Mark
2nd level (3 slots): Cordon of Arrows, Darkvision
3rd level (2 slots): Ashardalon's Stride, Lightning Arrow
4th level (2 slots): Guardian of Nature, Locate Creature
Multiattack. The Aarokocra can make two Talon or Javelin attacks.
Talon. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d4 + 5) slashing damage.
Returning Javelin. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 5) piercing damage. The javelin returns to the Aarakocra's hand immediately after it is used to make a ranged attack.
Air Brake (3/Day). As a reaction to falling the Aarakocra may make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw to stop falling and fly in place until the start of its next turn.
