Traits

Keen Hearing and Smell. The zburator has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Pack Tactics. The zburator has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the wolf's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Actions

Multiattack. The zburator can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the zburator's choice that is within 60 feet of the zburator and aware of it must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the zburator's Frightful Presence for the next 12 hours.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5–6). The zburator exhales fire in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 15 (2d6 + 8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Legendary Actions

Like its' draconic ancestors, the zburator can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The zburator regains spent legendary actions after a long rest.

Detect. The zburator makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Tail Attack. The zburator makes a tail attack.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The zburator beats its wings. Each creature within 5 feet of the zburator must succeed on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take 15 (2d6 + 8) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The zburator can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Description

In the unclaimed and wild spaces in the Underdark, or more rarely in the mountains and forests of the surface, the zburator is a powerful predator. Combining the power and intelligence of a red dragon with the anatomy of a wolf or dire wolf, the zburator is a beast to be feared. This dragon-wolf creature is a terror to local shepherds and farmers, with its powerful bite and tail as well as its capability to breathe fire.

The zburator appears as a dire wolf with its head, body, shoulders, and hips covered in fur that is gray, black, or a gradient of gray and black in color while its underside, legs, and tail are like those of a dragon, with long, serpentine scales, as well as having draconic back spikes and wings. The scaled parts are dark gray or black in color with red markings and its eyes, claws, and back spikes are red as well
