Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Yaga Shura fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Flame Aura via Shuruppak's Plate. At the start of each of the Yaga Shura's turns, each creature within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage, and flammable objects in the aura that aren't being worn or carried ignite. While active, Yaga Shura has resistance to all damages types besides necrotic and cold (which he is vulnerable to). If he takes cold or necrotic damage, this trait doesn't function again until the start of his next turn.

Actions

Multiattack. The giant makes two attacks with Runehammer: Cleave, Smash, or Thrown. Cleave attacks through up to 3 adjacent targets, making a single attack roll for all creatures.

Runehammer (Cleave). Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 10 ft., up to 3 targets. Hit: 35 (5d8 + 12) bludgeoning damage and 7 fire damage (2d6). Each creature hit must make a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be knocked back 10ft and become prone.

Runehammer (Smash). Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 10 ft., one prone target. Hit: 60 (7d8 + 20) bludgeoning damage and 7 fire damage (2d6).

Runehammer (Thrown). Ranged Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (4d10 + 12) bludgeoning damage and 7 fire damage (2d6). This weapon magically returns to the users hands.

Rupture (Recharge 5–6). Yaga Shura smashes the ground with Runehammer in a 90-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 23 Dexterity saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) bludgeoning damage on a failed save and be knocked prone, or half as much damage on a successful one. The ground in this area is fissured and becomes difficult terrain

Reactions

Flame Shield via Shuruppak's Plate. Yaga Shura can use his reaction to cause bright explosion from his armor gaining +5 AC against the next attack and imposing disadvantage on attack.

Legendary Actions

Command Hell Hound. Command a friendly hell hound to move up to it's movement speed and make an attack

Leap (Costs 2 Actions). Yaga Shura leaps 40ft to any spot he can see. This does not provoke opportunity attacks. Any creatures Large or Smaller are displaced and all creatures within 10ft must make DC 20 Dexterity saving throw or take 20 (2d10 + 10) and be knocked prone.

Runehammer Frenzy (Costs 3 Actions). Yaga Shura throws Runehammer which seeks out up to 6 targets. He makes separate thrown attacks against each target.

Description

With dark skin and flaming red hair, fire giants have a fearsome reputation as soldiers and conquerors. They dwell among volcanoes, lava flows, and rocky mountains, and are known for their ability to burn, plunder, and destroy.

Lair and Lair Actions

Yaga Shura's Lair

Yaga Shura's fortress is high in the Marching Mountains. It's a massive iron structure buried deep inside the mountain and only reachable via a massive elevator. This structure is blistering hot and full of magma troughs and traps. His throne room, an ornate room full of magma pools and intricately designed pillars, is the perfect place for him to be fighting in as he can easily use his strength to toss intruders into magma pools if his favored hammer, Runehammer, hasn't already crushed them into nothing.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Yaga Shura can take a lair action to cause one of the following magical effects; Yaga Shura can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Yaga Shura summons 2 hell hound within 5ft of him.
  • Yaga Shura commands one of his hell hounds to use it's flame breath, even if it's not charged.
  • Yaga Shura sends his hell hounds into a frenzy. Until initiative count 20, they gain +2 to hit and +2 to damage and can make one additional melee attack per round.
