Traits

Cosmic Awareness: Nebula has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks related to celestial phenomena or detecting creatures. She can sense disturbances in cosmic energies within a 5-mile radius and can track creatures by their cosmic energy signatures.

Innate Spellcasting. Nebula's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). She can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

  • At will: Light, Dancing Lights
  • 2/day each: Detect Magic, Moonbeam
  • 1/day: Misty Step

Legendary Resistance (2/Day). If Nebula fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.

Radiant Aura. Nebula emits a soft, soothing light in a 10-foot radius. Allies within this radius gain resistance to radiant damage.

Actions

Multiattack. Nebula makes two attacks: one with her bite and one with her claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) radiant damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Starfire Breath (Recharge 5-6). Nebula exhales a stream of radiant energy in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 49 (11d8) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On a failed save, a creature is also blinded until the end of its next turn.

Nebula Shroud (2/Day). Nebula can create a cloud of cosmic mist in a 20-foot radius centered on herself. The area becomes heavily obscured for creatures other than Nebula. The shroud lasts for 1 minute or until dispersed by a strong wind. Creatures within the shroud have disadvantage on attack rolls against Nebula, and she gains advantage on Stealth checks.

Legendary Actions

Legendary Actions

Nebula can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Nebula regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.

  • Celestial Flare. Nebula releases a burst of blinding light. Each creature within 20 feet of Nebula must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or be blinded until the end of their next turn.

  • Astral Projection. Nebula phases into the Astral Plane, moving up to 20 feet. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks and allows Nebula to move through objects and creatures.

Description

Celestial Dragons are majestic and enigmatic creatures intimately connected to the cosmos. They are believed to be born from the energies of the stars and the vastness of space, embodying the mysteries and wonders of the universe. These dragons are often associated with cosmic events, such as meteor showers, eclipses, and the alignment of celestial bodies. Their presence is said to influence the balance of cosmic energies, making them revered and sometimes feared across various cultures and planes.

Physical Characteristics

Celestial Dragons are distinguishable by their radiant, often shimmering scales that resemble the night sky filled with stars. Their eyes may appear as swirling galaxies or contain deep, mesmerizing colors reminiscent of nebulae. They typically possess translucent wings that reflect light in a way that resembles the aurora borealis. These dragons are graceful and agile, with a physique that conveys both elegance and strength.

Behavior and Personality

Celestial Dragons are often contemplative and wise, with a deep understanding of the universe's workings. They tend to be neutral in conflicts, preferring to observe rather than interfere, unless the balance of cosmic forces is threatened. These dragons are known to be guardians of ancient celestial knowledge, often sought after by scholars, wizards, and adventurers seeking wisdom.

While generally peaceful, Celestial Dragons can become fierce protectors when the need arises. They value harmony and balance and may take action against those who disrupt the natural order. Their presence is often seen as a good omen, but they are also capable of bringing about significant change when they intervene in mortal affairs.

Mythology and Cultural Significance

In various cultures, Celestial Dragons are revered as divine beings or heralds of significant events. They are often featured in myths and legends as guides, mentors, or even deities. Some believe that these dragons are capable of guiding souls through the cosmos, acting as psychopomps or guardians of the afterlife.

Temples and observatories dedicated to the stars and celestial phenomena may also honor Celestial Dragons. Rituals and ceremonies often invoke these dragons for blessings, especially during celestial events like solstices or planetary alignments.

Interactions with Other Beings

Celestial Dragons maintain a detached but respectful relationship with other creatures. They are known to interact with celestial beings such as angels, as well as other planar entities. Mortals who prove themselves worthy, either through their wisdom, bravery, or purity of purpose, may earn the favor of a Celestial Dragon. This can result in guidance, protection, or even a rare alliance.

Overall, Celestial Dragons are beings of immense power and knowledge, representing the vast and often unfathomable nature of the cosmos. They are enigmatic, revered, and play a vital role in the grand tapestry of the universe.
