Huskburster. Any creature that starts its turn within the Huskburster Swarm's space must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be infected with a virulent poison. An infected creature takes 14 (4d6) poison damage at the start of each of its turns. The infected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature dies while infected, it bursts into a swarm of insects (centipedes).
Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature’s space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Small centipede. The swarm can’t regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
Inescapable Mass. The Huskburster Swarm's attacks ignore any bonuses to AC from shields or cover.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 0 ft., one target in the swarm's space. Hit: 10 (4d4) piercing damage, or 5 (2d4) piercing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer.
Centipede Surge (Recharge 5-6). The Huskburster Swarm surges forward in a mass of writhing bodies, trampling everything in its path. Each creature in a 60-foot line that is 20 feet wide must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw . On a failed save, a creature takes 35 (10d6) bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't knocked prone.
Description
When the native centipedes of the Mushroom Valley feasted on the remains of a Calamity Beast, they became one themselves. The centipedes became part of a colossal hive mind, combing the mushroom forest for any morsels of fresh meat other than each other. They move like a violent ocean, rising and falling like waves in a storm, reaching out with thick finger-like arrangements.
