False Appearance. While the bloodthorn remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal plant.
Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 0 ft., one creature. Hit: The target takes 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage, and it is grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and it takes 21 (6d6) necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns. The bloodthorn regains half of the necrotic damage as hit points. The bloodthorn can drain only one target at a time.
Description
The bloodthorn is an extraplanar plant, often found on Carceri, the Abyss, Pandemonium and the Outlands, as well as the Field of Nettles on Hades. The thick roots and tendrils hide hollow spikes that wrap around victims and drain their blood. Bloodthorns produce bright red, fragrant, succulent-looking berries that are bitter and provide no sustenance.
Bloodthorns are rumoured to grow where blood, ichor and the like have been copiously spilled.
A image would be nice even if it was just a picture of a Bellsprout
Oh man that grapple damage is rough. I love it!
Awesome ideas, i will use it for my next session, thanks mate !
I'll add something like that (more or less) :
Anyone coming within 40 feet of the area must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be compelled to walk closer to the area and into the range of the plant, which attempts to swallow anyone of medium size or smaller. Anyone swallowed by the plant takes 2d6 acid damage each round. A character can escape with a DC 12 Athletics check.
Love this and plan to use it in my next encounter
