Legendary Resistance (3/day): When Zelina fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead. 

Focus: A Monk of the Astral Self, Zelina has a pool of 20 Focus points which she can use to power certain moves. She regains all expended focus points at the end of a short or long rest. When an ability requires Zelina to roll a martial arts die, she rolls 2d10 for each martial arts instead. 

Rage: A Barbarian of the Path of the Zealot, Zelina can enter a rage. While raging Zelina has advantage on all saving throws. Additionally, if she is reduced to zero hit points, she neither falls unconscious, or rolls death saving throws, instead staying at 0 hit points in a rage. If she would die due to failing death saving throws, she doesnt die until her rage ends, and she only then dies if she still has 0 hit points.

  • Reckless attack: While raging, Zelina may attack recklessly, providing herself advantage on attack rolls, but attacks against her have advantage until her next turn. 

Lucky: When Zelina rolls a natural 1 on any D20 test she may reroll that test; she must use the result. 

Ageless: Zelina does not age, cannot be aged magically, and is immune to disease. 

Refocus: When Zelina rolls initiative if she is on fewer than 10 focus points, her focus points increase to 10.

 Equipment: Zelina carries a bag of holding with the following magical items at all times: 

  • Flicker: Shortspear +2. Range of 5 feet, simple weapon, Deals 1d8 +2 + dexterity modifier.
    • Once per turn, after hitting a creature with Flicker, you may teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.  
    • A creature struck by flicker may be forced to make a DC 19 Wisdom Saving throw or be teleported 15 feet in any direction of the attackers choice. 
  • Belt of Returning: This belt is equipped with 12 Shuriken, when thrown the shuriken magically return to the Belt after travelling 120 feet or striking the 
  • Broach of Reflection: Once per day, when targeted by a spell, you can choose a different creature within 30 feet of you, they are targeted by the spell instead.

Bonus Actions

Astral Form:  Zelina can spend 1 focus point to summon the arms of her astral self. When she does so, each creature of her choice within 15 feet of her must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die (4d10 total). 

While her Astral Arms are summoned they appear in a ghostly form around her shoulders and her visage transforms, with dark skin, a ghostly aura, and vibrant cobalt hair that floats around her head. The Astral arms can be used to make unarmed attacks with an additional range of 10 feet, and add her Wisdom modifier to attack and damage rolls. All Damage dealt by her astral arms are Force.

Once per short rest, when Zelina enters her Astral form, she gains 50 temporary hitpoints.

Other Monk abilities she can use as a bonus action are: 

  • Flurry of Blows. Zelina can expend 1 Focus Point to make two Unarmed Strikes as a Bonus Action.
  • Patient Defense. Zelina can take the Disengage action as a Bonus Action. Alternatively, she can expend 1 Focus Point to take both the Disengage and the Dodge actions as a Bonus Action.
  • Step of the Wind. Zelina can take the Dash action as a Bonus Action. Alternatively, she can expend 1 Focus Point to take both the Disengage and Dash actions as a Bonus Action, and her jump distance is doubled for the turn.

Rage: Zelina can use her bonus action to enter a rage. While raging, she gains advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws, and she adds her strength modifier to all melee attacks, and +6 rage damage on melee attacks. She also gains resistance to Necrotic and Radiant damage while raging. 

Once per short rest, when Zelina enters her rage she heals for 50 hitpoints

Reactions

Missile Snaring: Zelina may use her reaction to reduce the damage of any ranged melee attack against her by 6d10. If she reduces the damage to 0 she may use one focus point as part of the same reaction to throw the projectile at a creature within 30 feet of her (+9 to hit), dealing 33 (6d10) piercing damage on a hit. 

Description

Zelina Hoshi, who goes by Zelina most of the time, is a middle-aged halfling with tanned olive skin and big brown eyes. Her soft, shoulder-length brunette hair casually frames her face. She is usually relaxed and often found smiling or humming to herself. While confident, she remains humble around those with authority and is well-versed in social skills and mannerisms. Those who know her often find her unforgettable, but to others, she could easily fade into a crowd unnoticed. She typically dresses simply, wearing a short belted tunic in taupe, white, or brown, usually accompanied by a small bag around her waist and a short spear hanging from her belt. Without her cloak, a symbol of the Pius Hand is visible, tattooed onto her surprisingly muscular shoulders, marking her as an initiate of the Church’s inner circles. She moves thoughtfully and gracefully, as though years of training and introspection have shaped her very steps. Within the charitable order she leads, Zelina is often perceived solely as a dedicated, compassionate leader—a polished outer persona.

In combat, however, Zelina is a master of calculated precision and unyielding force. Her strikes are swift and deliberate, combining unarmed techniques with overwhelming, rage-fueled assaults. She has an uncanny ability to hit harder than expected, often leaving the impression that she could have struck with even more force. Zelina adapts quickly, exploiting her opponents' weaknesses with practiced efficiency and speed. She typically relies on her martial prowess alone, rarely revealing her Astral form and only on the rarest occasions surrendering to her deeply held emotions, unleashing a quiet but unrelenting storm of rage.
