Echolocation. The yamachi can not use its blindsight while deafened.
Innate Spellcasting. The yamachi's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 12, +4 to hit with spell attacks). The yamachi can innately cast the following spells, without providing material components:
At Will: Fog Cloud, Mage Hand (the hand is invisible)
1/Day Each: Dream
Keen Hearing and Sight. The yamachi has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or sight.
Magic Resistance. The yamachi has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Magic Weapons. The yamachi’s weapon attacks are considered magical.
Spider Climb. The yamachi can climb any difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) Slashing damage.
Dream Feaster. The yamachi consumes the life force of a sleeping humanoid. The feasting requires the yamachi to be within 5 feet of the sleeping target for at least 5 minutes. For each 5 minutes the yamachi spends feasting, the yamachi gains one Temporary Hit Points (to a maximum of 36 Temporary Hit Points) and it learns a random memory or fact that the targeted creature knows.
While the yamachi is feasting, the sleeping humanoid suffers from random and chaotic nightmares. When the target awakens it immediately takes 3 (1d6) Psychic damage and it gains no benefit from its rest.
Hop. As a bonus action, the Yamachi can jump up to 10 feet in a direction of its choice. This jump distance does not count against the Yamachi's movement.
Description
Yamachis are 2-foot tall chimp-like fiends, with large, unblinking, yellow eyes, bat-like ears, and hooked talons on each of their four limbs. Yamachis gain nutrition, power, and knowledge by consuming the dreams of sleeping humanoids.
Yamachis make their nest in the attics or ceiling crawl spaces of the humanoids that they feed on. Their nest is a pile of torn fabric, stuffing, and other soft materials surrounded by small trinkets and toys that it has stolen.
Youkai Fiends. Youkai are fiends inspired by Chinese, Japanese, or Mongolian folklore. They are native to the Lower Plane of Acheron. They can be any type of Evil Alignment but they tend to lean more towards Lawful Evil.
