Aura of Despair. Xyraza projects an aura of despair within a 30-foot radius. Creatures within this area have disadvantage on saving throws and must make a DC 23 Charisma saving throw at the start of their turn or become paralyzed with fear for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns.
Legendary Resistance. If Xyraza fails a saving throw, She can choose to succeed instead.
Spellcasting. Xyraza's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 23). She can cast the following spells:
Jailer (1/Day). Xyraza can cast the imprisonment spell, requiring no material components and using Intelligence as the spellcasting ability (chaining effect only; spell save DC 18).
Magic Resistance. Xyraza has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. Xyraza makes four attacks: two with her claws and two with her corrupting touch.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 34 (4d10 + 12) slashing damage. On hit, the target must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or take an additional 20 (4d6+6) necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns.
Corrupting Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +17 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 30 (6d8 + 7) psychic damage. The target must make a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or be confused until the end of Xyraza’s next turn.
Shadow Step. As a bonus action, Xyraza can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space she can see. Both the start and end location must be in dim light or darkness.
Xyraza can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Xyraza regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.
Nightmare Gaze. Xyraza targets one creature she can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute.
Chaotic Mockery. Xyraza unleashes a mental attack on a creature within 30 feet, dealing 36 (8d8) psychic damage and imposing disadvantage on the next attack roll made by the target.
Entropic Surge (Costs 2 Actions). Xyraza releases a wave of entropic energy in a 30-foot radius, forcing each creature in that area to make a DC 24 Constitution saving throw, taking 72 (13d10) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Description
Description: Xyraza, the Demodand ruler of Colothys, embodies the chaos and despair of Carceri’s mountainous realm. Her form is a ghastly amalgamation of serpentine decay and feminine malice, with scales rotting and sloughing off her skeletal frame, revealing ichor-dripping sinews beneath. Her haunting eyes are twin voids of endless torment, flickering with twisted malevolence as they linger on her prey. Her elongated limbs are adorned with remnants of tattered regal garb, shimmering with a dark, otherworldly light. Each movement she makes is accompanied by a dissonant symphony of whispers, as if the very air itself is in agony. Xyraza's presence corrupts her surroundings, turning even the hardiest of terrains into havens of desolation.
Lore: Xyraza is an ancient force of malevolent entropy, her dominion over Colothys an eternal testament to her unending thirst for power. Legends say every peak and perilous path was formed by her twisted will, a tapestry woven from the torment of those who dared to defy her.
Demodands
Demodands, also called gehreleths, are Fiends from the Tarterian Depths of Carceri. Cast into the prison plane long ago for forgotten transgressions, these bitter, wicked creatures have appointed themselves the jailers of the plane. Demodands viciously defend the few known portals that lead out of Carceri and ruthlessly torment other creatures trapped there.
Demodands that manage to leave Carceri know they’re doomed to return; a demodand that dies outside Carceri re-forms there in a torturous process that takes 2d20 days. Even those who survive on other planes find themselves eventually dragged back, pulled by some planar tether.
