Keen Sight and Smell. The Slaghund has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or smell.
Trailblazer. The Slaghund scorches the ground with every step, and leaves a trail of fire in its wake. Investigation rolls to track its location are made with advantage.
During combat, the Slaghund leaves a trail of fire behind it each round it moves. A flammable object (such as grass, cloth, or wood) trampled by the Slaghund instantly ignites. A 5-foot cube exposed to its fiery tracks burns away in 1 round, dealing 2d4 fire damage to any creature that starts its turn in the fire.
Multiattack. The Slaghund makes two attacks with its claws.
Matchstick Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) slashing damage plus 4 (1d8) fire damage. On a hit, the target must make an additional DC14 Dexterity save. On a failure, the target creature's armor or clothing ignites.
At the start of each of the Slaghund's turns, all creatures wearing ignited armor take 1d6 fire damage as well as a permanent and cumulative −1 penalty to the AC the armor offers. Armor reduced to an AC of 10 or a shield that drops to a +0 bonus is destroyed. Affected creatures can spend an action to douse the flames (using water, dirt, etc.) and end this effect.
Description
A combo of feral fiend and an Owlbear, this wizard experiment gone wrong is the Id to the Tatzelwurm's Ego. This beast is a pyromaniac that loves setting things ablaze for its own amusement, and will melt an adventurer's armor in seconds given the chance.
The calling card of the chaotic Slaghund is a trail scorching footprints amongst a sea of spreading flames. This arsonist will stampede through a town to kick-up a swelling fire and hissing a laugh as the civilians scatter. Slaghunds are much like destructive children, and seek attention above all else. The crux of the Slaghund are those that do not fear its fire and wound its pride. Some say, it is possible to quell the beasts fury by simply appreciating its rather destructive artform. Warm regards to the adventurers thick enough to tame this chaotic fusion of fiend and friend.

Posted Mar 5, 2020so, I think I'm going to use this in my game tomorrow as a mount/companion since I have a warforged to guide the characters then realized we have to travel 200 miles in less than a week and my warforged cant ride horses because he's 350+ pounds.
