Spider climb The spider can climb difficult surfaces, including along ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Walker. The spider ignores movement restrictions caused by webs, and it knows the location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Standing Leap. The spider can long jump up to 30 feet and high jump up to 15 feet with or without a running start. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
Multiattack. The spider makes one Bite attack and one Web attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 6) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.
web. (Recharge 5-6). Ranged Weapon Attack: +8, range 30/60 ft., one creature. Hit: The target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 14 Strength check, escaping from the webbing on a success. The effect also ends if the webbing is destroyed. The webbing has AC 10, 5 hit points, is vulnerable to fire damage, and immune to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage. While restrained by the webbing, the target takes 3 (1d6) necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns.
Sonic screech (Recharge 5-6). The spider emits a high-frequency screech in a 30-foot radius. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Web net (Recharge 5-6). The spider launches a net of webbing at a point it can see within 30 feet. The webbing covers a 15-foot-radius sphere centered on that point. The area becomes difficult terrain and filled with webbing for 1 minute. Each creature that starts its turn in the area or enters it for the first time on a turn takes 3 (1d6) necrotic damage. A creature can use its action to make a DC 14 Strength check, freeing itself or another creature within reach from the webbing on a success.
web zipline. The spider shoots a web line to a solid surface within 60 feet. The web line is strong enough to support the spider and up to two Medium creatures at tge same time. The spider moves at its normal speed while moving along the web line. The web line remains for 1 hour or until destroyed (AC 12, 10 hp, vulnerable to fire damage).
Description
Wraith Spider
The Wraith Spider earns its name from its ghostly coloration—a striking pattern of pale white and muted purple that lets it fade into misty forests and cave lichen with unnerving ease. This is no spectral entity, but a living beast perfected by evolution into the ultimate ambush predator.
Its most distinctive feature is the smooth, eye-less head that houses sophisticated heat-sensing pits, allowing it to perceive the world through a constant thermographic map. This "thermosense" lets it hunt in absolute darkness, tracking prey by their body heat with uncanny precision. Its exoskeleton is remarkably tough yet lightweight, contributing to both its defenses and its silent, fluid movement.
A master trapper, the Wraith Spider doesn't just wait for prey—it engineers the battlefield. It creates complex networks of adhesive, nutrient-draining webbing, uses its powerful legs to make astounding leaps to bypass its own traps, and can instantly create stable "ziplines" to reposition or allow its pack to flank unsuspecting victims. Its screech is a physical, high-frequency vibration used to disorient and panic prey, driving them into waiting webs. This is not a monster of magic, but of terrifying biological perfection.
