Traits

Mimicry. The Parraptor can mimic simple sounds it has heard, such as animal sounds and humanoid voices.. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 12 Wisdom (Insight) check.

Vibrant colours Due to its full colours, the Parraptor has disadvantage on stealth checks, but advantage on performance checks.

Actions

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.

Grab. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. - Grappled.

Reactions

Dodge. At the first sign of danger the Parraptor will leap to the highest point it can using its limited flying movement. This gives it advantage on any dexterity spell saves and any attacks against it are at disadvantage.

Description

In the jungles of Eberron these brightly-coloured, beaked tropical therapods range in height from one to two feet. Parraptor have a powerful curved bill and feet that are excellent at grasping. They have no wings but their fore-limbs are sufficiently feathered to grant a little lift to aid a 10ft leap. They are not comfortable on the ground but they can climb at speed. Their stubby wings only allow them to glide.

They compete with parrots for food and can be found in similar environments, but are much rarer. Mages and druids who have studied them think that at some point arcane experimentation may have transformed parrots or small raptors into these bad tempered tiny beasts.
