Living Stone Body. The Wǔshì Hóu has resistance to bludgeoning damage from nonmagical attacks and advantage on saving throws against being knocked prone.
Mountain Mobility. The Wǔshì Hóu ignores difficult terrain caused by natural earth or vegetation. It can move along vertical surfaces without falling during its turn.
Staff Adept. When wielding a quarterstaff, the Wǔshì Hóu’s reach increases to 10 feet on its turn.
Multiattack. The Wǔshì Hóu makes three Staff strikes.
Ironwood Staff. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft. (10 ft. on its turn), one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) force damage.
Stone Shattering Sweep (Recharge 5–6). The Wǔshì Hóu sweeps its staff in a wide arc. Each creature of its choice within 10 feet must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or take 21 (6d6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. On a success, a creature takes half damage and isn’t knocked prone.
Deflecting Spin. When hit by a ranged weapon attack, the Wǔshì Hóu reduces the damage by 1d10 + 6. If this reduces the damage to 0, it can immediately make one Staff attack against a creature within reach.
Description
The Wǔshì Hóu are the disciplined guardians of Mount Huāguǒ. Unlike the farmers, these Stone Monkeys dedicate themselves fully to martial training — patrolling cliffs, guarding orchard paths, and driving off raiders who dare test the mountain’s defenses.
They move like wind through branches and strike like falling stone.
Clad in reinforced cloth armor inspired by ancient Chinese brigandine — layered fabrics, leather guards, jade beads woven into belts — they carry iron-banded staffs carved with mountain sigils. Their bodies are lean and powerful, fur braided tight for combat. When angered, faint golden cracks glow beneath their skin.
They are not soldiers of conquest.
They are protectors of home.
