Description

This long necked bird stands 3'5" at hatching and grows 1 inch per week developing multicolored opalescent feathers in patches for the 1 year of it's life. At which time it becomes a Yekrut (Young) As it grows its colouring darkens with reds becoming maroons, blues navies yellows saffrons etc until such time as it becomes an elder Yekrut and it's beak, feathers, waddle, turn a matte black.

Yekrut are drawn to those creatures who respect the woodland and nature of many kinds. A hatchling will imprint on whomever they see first upon exiting their egg and befriend as they grow. All Yekruts but especially the older more distinguished looking variety command the respect and awe of druids, elves, and other woodland creatures. There are those humans who consider Yekrut to be among the elder ancient gods of Perlen.
