Build without Worry! Undo Your Mistakes
Since the release of Sigil, the ability to undo mistakes in the VTT's Creative Mode has been the second-most upvoted issue on our User Suggestion Board, with 716 votes.
The Sigil 3D VTT allows you to craft breathtaking digital environments for your campaign. During the creation process, you can sometimes misplace a tree, rock, wall or other asset. While you can easily delete these, the Undo/Redo features help fix mistakes in a pinch. You can now use the keyboard shortcuts CTRL + Z to undo a recent action and CTRL + Y to redo something you previously undid.
We hope this added capability will help you as you build all your creations. Don't forget to join our Discord server to show them off!
Undo/Redo works only in Creative Mode, and it supports the following actions:
- Moving and rotation of props and groups
- Creation and deletion of props and groups
- Replacing a prop with another one—in a group or not
- Can undo and redo organizing props into groups
New Skin Tones
The worlds of D&D are diverse, and we want that to be reflected in character customization. Maybe elves in your campaign setting are purple and orcs are orange, or maybe your character's great-grandfather was a demon, so you want that extra saturated shade of red. Not only have we added more predefined skin tones and given them a more sensible order, but we have also made sliders so you can tweak them to your heart's content.
After choosing an initial color, sliders will appear so you can fine-tune your selection. The sliders allow you to customize the following:
- Hue: Cycle through the color's hue on the visible spectrum. Pick from a rainbow of different options.
- Saturation: Increase the color's saturation, making it more vibrant. Desaturate the color to make it more muted.
- Lightness: Lighten the color to white or darken it to black.
Quality of Life Improvements and Bug Fixes
The team has also worked on smaller fixes to increase the usability and playability of the 3D VTT. Keep the feedback coming, because working on big features doesn't stop us from fixing small problems.
Here is a list of other small fixes:
- The Launcher now has a Repair function so that you can fix a broken install when you have missing or corrupt files.
- Sigil now uses the “Nickname” instead of the Account Name for display. Many people have changed their names from their original account name, and this will now correctly reflect those updates.
- Creative Mode assets now drag from wherever they were clicked, instead of from the middle. This should help during placement of larger pieces and set pieces.
- BUG FIX: In a mixed selection of objects that contain assets that snap to grid and those that don't (like props), the selection will default to snapping to grid. Previously, this would only work if you clicked on a snap-enabled object within the selection group.
- BUG FIX: When doing a box selection while upper floors/levels are hidden, the items on the hidden floors still get selected.
- BUG FIX: Players can reveal hidden props on different floors by changing what floor is visible.
